As others have pointed out, the location is fantastic; minutes away (on foot) from the Opera or Basilica. We walked everywhere and barely had to use public transit during our 5 days in Budapest. The hotel had a free, varied breakfast, which was much appreciated.

The problems lie with the rooms - paper-thin walls, horrible echo (nothing on the walls), jammed / broken curtain rod (had to clip the curtains together with a safety pin to get some privacy in the evening), spider webs in the corners, shower stall door didn't fully close (flooded bathroom), cigarettes and some other trash behind furniture (we had to move it while searching for an outlet)...

The fancy lobby makes you think you are at a really nice hotel, but hallways and rooms (at least the cheaper ones) are not in a good condition. It's like the hotel is pretending to be something it's not. We thought it was a pretty good deal, but the 4-star rating must be a joke. I loved the location and breakfast, and the staff were accommodating (we got an early check-in), but I would check out other options before staying here again.

I stayed here in Feb 2011 and had no problem... BUT ... In early June 2011 there was no air conditioning... It was the most uncomfortable 3 days in a hotel ive ever experienced... No fans were offered (or available I think)... The hotel staff were sympathetic but my impression was that the management were less than hurried to get the A/C fixed... There is almost no ventilation to the outside ... So check the A/C has been fixed before you book... On your head be it if you don't!

I wasn't sure what to expect as i'd read such mixed reviews for this hotel. The location is fantastic, everywhere is walkable from here, and there a
re some good restaurants minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel itself- the communal ar
eas a
re of a good standard and the breakfast room was fine with a
fairly decent range of food both hot and cold. Now for the bad bit the room themselves and the hallways a
re not
4 s
tar quality, they a
re very basic, we complained about the firs
t one as t
here were wires hanging loose, and was then given an upgrade which was much better but still not 4 s
tar. The room also had a s
tale smell to it. But to be honest i
t was
just a base for us and was clean and comfor

r needs and
the price we paid. Also the s
taff were very welcoming and helpful.

I didnt like staying in this Hotel... Service was not good.. Staff was unkind and not helpfull..and not proffesional
I expected much more of the room, cause the outside of the hotel looks nice... but inside looks oldfashion and dated...The bathroom was dirty... Especially for what you are paying and the location you are at i was expecting much more.. Breakfast was also not nice..there are things from the day before...,that shouldnt be there...
The only nice thing was the location, close to the street of designershops.. but not really in the center where it all happens... So you can get better for price value, cause there are so many hotels.... I will return for sure in Boedapest but never to this hotel...it dousnt deserve the 4stars...

I like when everything comes together nice and smooth. That is the best way to describe my experience staying @ Alfa Hotel Fiesta. Nice friendly staff members, good spacious rooms and excellent breakfast every morning - traveler's dream. And the most important - no hidden fees or other unpleasant surprises. All that makes Alfa Hotel Fiesta a safe harbor for the travelers who would like to return to a place with good memories.
