The place really sets you in the right vibe with the proper music in the rooms, the lighting and the videos on the walls. Its crazy to imagine what really went on in that place.

Unfortunately, if you don't know Hungarian you`ll have a hard time understanding what`s going on in every room. That said, still recommended.

I saw this museum advertised. It was different from all the art museums, and everyone was talking about it. It is easily accessible by subway. This was a true learning experience. Each room had explanations of the people who had worked there--in those very rooms--and what their roles were in carrying out both Nazi and Soviet attrocities. There were film shorts and victim interviews to add to the history. Take-away explanations of the rooms were written in Hungarian (?) and English.
There were many visitors who found this museum. It is most worthwhile.

The design of the museum, effects, rooms etc is really great. I love how everything is housed. But when it comes to actual content, not a lot, not easy, and not the highlight. The design, the museum design is spectacular.

Despite reading unfavourable reviews on tripadvisor about the House of Terrors, I decided to give it a try but ended up disappointed. The entrance fee was a bit expensive, given the lack of content provided by the Museum. Exhibits were often not translated to English and some of the videos were not playing properly. I found it confusing. The information sheets provided were lengthy though. Despite all these, I found the concept of the House of Terrors still meaningful.

A real must see if you visit Budapest. Gives you an overview of its history, sometimes in horrific detail. Confronting historical facts. Went deep down my spine. Although all information in English was available on audio and paper (which you could take with you), would have been nice to have a translation for all hungarian material.
