We spent a long day with other tourists gazing over the Danube and exploring the buildings and shops of Buda. I took a turn down an almost deserted alley, and there it was: Biro Eva, with Eva (age 86) behind the counter. She is a wonder of leather crafting and has found other artisans who also contribute to her stock. It is a small shop, but filled with lovely, carefully designed and sewn purses, briefcases, coin purses, belts and more. I bought a medium sized bag made of calf and cow leather and now that I am back in the US, I think I could have sold it 20 times. She also has some cute little novelty coin purses -- ideal gifts because they are small and unique, just like Biro Eva!
