Having stayed in Budapest before, I cannot believe I never stayed anywhere like the shakespeare apartment as it is so close to many many bars and restaurants.
The streets around this place are all heavily packed with such places, and so the location of this apartment is ideal to stagger back to at night. It is also just far enough away from such establishments as to not cause any noise issues (particularly as it is located off the street, within a courtyard).
It is within easy walking distance of the city centre, where there is an abundance of shops, bar, restaurants and cultural places to visit, and not far In the opposite direction to szechenyi bath and spa.
Krystian, who welcomes you to the apartment with keys, and also for checking out, was very helpful in directing you to places to visit, as well as being flexible in times of your check in and check out, despite whatever he may have been up to (we checked in at 23:30, and checked out at 14:00 on a working day), however he will only accept cash payments.
I would definitely reccomend this apartment. It's close to the main amenities in the city, just in front of the Opera. Moreover, you have everything you need for your stay and you feel like at home. It's very clean, new and comfortable. There is a supermarket very close to the apartment so you can buy all the food there. There is also an underground stop in front of the appartment, Opera Metro Station. The staff is very kind and they explain everything you need. I would definitely reccomend this apartment for your stay at Budapest.
Great little Self Catering option, had a fun time here.
Was met by Kristian on arrival and he met us on checkout, Provided all the information we needed on the aparment and area. Was easy to contact by phone and text. Offered to help us with a taxi.
Could not be better, literally next to the Opera house and Andrassy Av.
Restaurants within the area, shopping not far. On the M2 Metro Route so you can visit the baths and sights easily.
Apartment seperated into:
Kitchen, which was functional and great to use.
Open plan Living room and main Bedroom, with a seperate en suite room.
Stairs up to a single bedroom area.
Plenty of heaters to keep you warm. Could do with a tiny bit of improving, fittings wise but overall a nice style to the place.
I would recommend this to people looking for a cheap and easy place for a young couple to come back to if you dont want to restaurant it every night.
I stayed at this appartment with my partner. The location couldn't be better: metro line nearby, as are the cultural sightseeings. The appartment is very clean with plenty of room, all in a modern style. You really feel like you're coming home and rest after a long day of walking. The kitchen was also a big plus, because Budapest isn't cheap at all.
The apartment was perfect, very well located and very well decorated. I only missed some minor details, like a toaster and a lamp over the table (under the stairs), but these are really minor details. I loved to have a radio. I’m a radio and music fan and it is rare nowadays. Kristian was very helpful too. It was great to have a good map of the city and the cultural magazine for the month.
I’ve recommended your apartment to all my friends.
I stayed for five nights at the Shakespeare Opera apartment in Budapest. This is a small apartment that could comfortably accommodate up to four people. I chose the apartment because of it's central location (next door to the Opera house) and low price. I found the apartment to be clean and well cared for, it is a loft style open plan room with separate kitchen and two small sleeping rooms. It was very hot while I was in Budapest, but the apartment stayed relatively cool at all hours, as it is located in a private courtyard. There are no amenities to speak of, but I had everything I needed, and there are many hotels/cafes/restaurants in the area. However, it would have been great to have an internet connection as well.
