“Authentic tapas from a lovely family-run bar”
Reviewed 21 March 2014 via mobile

Following encouraging Trip Advisor reviews we visited on our first night in Budapest. Set in a quiet area, we were welcomed like old friends, especially when we tried out our Spanish. We were amused when we were told that the owners are all Hungarians, and only the son has a smattering of, in his own words, 'restaurant' Spanish!
The food was great, however - truly authentic and very reasonably priced. Try the ratatouille with an egg on top, the garlic prawns, patatas bravas, peppers padron and the home made bread. Pity they are closed on Sunday night and Monday lunchtime or we would have visited again during our weekend break. Brilliant.

“Come here if you want a great meal, stay at home if you dont!”

For my part, I have found the most authentic spanish food @Padron with a nice Budapest touch. First class food, excellent staff, all you wish to have for a pleasant dinner, in a nice family-run restaurant. Rib is beyond expectation!

“Lovely family run Tapas Bar”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

This newly opened Tapas Bar is in the centre of one of the nicest old districts of Pest, in a quiet, dark street. The business is run by a family, the mother and her two children, who are very very kind and helpful. The place is small, and gets more popular in every day, so make sure you have a reservation. There are Spanish and Hungarian wines, Catalan Cava and bohemian beer, what else do you need?:) The menu is not very long, but there are excellent jamons and chorizos, the freshly baked bread is exceptional, olives are very good too. Also, there is warm food, 10-12 tapas are always available. Do not miss the tripe-stew from Madrid, it is going to rock your world! At the end, if there are two of you, you probably won’t pay more than 10.000 HUF, assuming that you are so full (and a bit drunk:) that you are unable to stand up properly. It is a must in Budapest, if you like Spanish food!

“Great food, very friendly service”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

It's a recently opened tapas bar located in a historical, pretty calm, but central neighbourhood. The bar in runned by a family which is quite rare in Budapest, I could immediately feel its charm as entered. They are not professionals, but trying to chat with the arriving guests, explaining them the menu so do everything to make your visit comfortable.

You get a tapa for 2-3 euros, in the menu I could select from around 15 of them. Home made brad was brilliant, 2-3 tapas were filling and delicious and they serve draft beer, perhaps from the Czeck which was surprisingly good comparing to other drafts in Budapest

Interesting place, helpful stuff and great food, worth a visit.
