“Wedding Anniversary delight!”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

Our 4 night stay in a second floor "Natural" room could not have been better. A short 10 minute walk after the easy public transport (bus & train) from the airport had us there in less than an hour and very cheaply! A warm welcome and cold drink came from the very friendly and helpful front desk manager. We were nicely surprised and pleased by our spacious double bedded room overlooking the inner courtyard. It was very quiet. A room safe, coffee & tea (+ kettle), small fridge and WiFi gave us our necessary comforts. The bathroom was complemented by the large walk-in shower area. There is a lift to all floors.
The hotel is located just one street parallel and behind Andrassy and was no more than 5 minutes walk to the Opera House. It's in an excellent position to easily visit all tourist sights on both sides of the river. Two Tripadvisor well-rated restaurants are equidistant and less than 10 minutes walk away (Vakvarju & Ket Szerecsen restaurants). We tried both and confirmed the positive reviews from elsewhere.
Breakfast was lovely and in nice surroundings. We'd recommend this hotel unreservedly.

Room Tip: Overlooking courtyard on 2nd floor is very quiet

Pros
Casati is in a really good location not far back from the opera house & main streets including transport & the hop on/hop off tourist bus stop.
Friendly management greet you with a drink & instructions when you arrive
Nice style, slightly funky feel to décor in reception & breakfast areas, interesting artwork along walls & elevator banks.
Husband booked but reasonable rates
Good hot shower & clean bathroom. Clean bedroom also. Staff responsive when needed
Free wi fi

Cons
We had a ‘natural’ décor suite [slightly larger than average room] which was fairly bland & felt a bit ikea-like & basic.
No English speaking tv channels apart from BBC, in other words no entertainment or ability to purchase movies as a separate channel [think this trend has gone downhill overall though to be fair]
Really cold one night & although guest services person came quickly he basically informed us that radiator wouldn’t be working until later as it was centrally controlled [we responded politely but pondered on how we had paid to be cold or later, hopefully, not so cold]. We later also realised that the cleaning staff may have left the window open all day as at some times, the heating gets a bit over enthusiastic].
Bed was comfortable but not a thick or soft mattress, pretty saggy toward middle
Breakfast was in a nice light room with sunlights to the building & attached courtyard above, with friendly staff, but very cramped in school camp like table setup & not a great range of hot food [awful scrambled eggs & no potato hash brown type option, poor sad fussy me, I think the continental breakfast is more of their focus though to be fair].

Just returned from a long weekend in Budapest, staying three nights at the Casati. As other reviewers have mentioned the location is very central just off Andrassy Ut not far from the Opera House. The hotel had a modern design in an older building that worked really well, our room was spacious and very clean. The staff were all friendly and very helpful, the breakfast was plentiful and served until late at weekends. All in all we felt the hotel offered excellent value for money and if we return to Budapest would stay there again without hesitation.

This was actually our second choice in Budapest, but we were very happy that we stayed here. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was quite extensive with very long hours and wonderful coffee. I liked the art work and design of the hotel. We had the natural room and it was very pretty. The hotel is in a great location with lots to do around it and plenty of great restaurants. The only problem I have is that the walls of the bathroom are just glass, so I hope you're comfortable with the person you are staying with and it also means if you need to use the restroom in the middle of the night you either have to go in the dark or light up the whole room. I have seen these types of bathrooms all over Europe and Asia so I guess they're popular, just not with me.
But besides that small detail everything was great. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Casati has the perfect location. You can get anywhere around town within a 15-20 minute walk. Beautiful modern design, helpful staff, great breakfast, spacious rooms. However, both the shower and the lavatory have a transparent door which faces the room. Not everyone would feel comfortable (plus, the lavatory door could not even be closed). I still do highly recommend it.

This is a wonderful conversion of an old building into a very slick modern hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and have great walk in showers. It is very clean with plenty of towels and nice toiletries.
The breakfast has everything one could ask for plus a daily newsletter giving the weather forecast.
The location is excellent just minutes away from the Opera and it's metro and 5 minutes from Deak square where there is transport to virtually anywhere. There are plenty of sights, bars and restaurants within walking distance.
The staff are there 24 hours and are very pleasant and helpful.
I shall certainly return.
