An amazing building, particularly the cafe/salon area which is like sitting down for a meal a hundred years ago in Austro-Hungarian Empire era luxury. Spotless, large, attractive rooms. Helpful, polite staff. Spent one night here after getting a good deal on the room and couldn't believe our luck, wish we'd stayed longer!

In a historical Budapest palace they have created a wonderful classy and luxurious atmosphere I highly recommend. Rooms are very large and nicely furnished. Only disappointment was the spa pool which is ridicolously small.

The Boscolo Hotel is one of the grandest it is possible to imagine, with stunning interiors and facade, and a breakfast room that outdoes any I've seen. But it wears its grandeur so lightly, and the staff are so easy and unfussy that it's not hard to relax in the splendour of the surroundings. The room we had - and it was the most basic on offer - was simply enormous, with the biggest and most comfortable bed I've slept in, with a stunning bathroom, and great decor. The spa is also pretty sensational with a great pool, and good facilities. Last but not least the area of the hotel is much more interesting than the area near the river where most of the big hotels are placed. The Boscolo is right by the old Jewish quarter which has tons of character and loads of great eating options. There's also a Metro stop 50 metres away. Last word is that the room with breakfast and spa was also stunning value.

You shouldn't be disapointed if you make the choice to stay in this hotel well located.
First the building, an old palace is just amazing. I stayed in room 538 and I can only say that it was a great room. It was big and the decoration was tasteful (just look at the photos). It has also a big flat screen TV set. The bathroom was also a nice place with Etro amenities, bathrobe and slippers, a bathtub and a rain shower. Housekeeping comes also in late afternoon in case you miss anything.
The diamond of this hotel is its New York cafe, a Belle Epoque place where you can have dinner or a drink and where the service is excellent. You can also enjoy a swimming pool which should surprise you and you have also access to the gym (good material) and the sauna areas. Last but not least you'll have free wifi internet.
On the other hand there are few points to improve like the breakfast which was under the standards for a 5 star hotel due to the bad food cooking (ie : burnt bacon) and the lack of choice for hot dishes and the overpriced minibar (7€ for a small water or a coke).

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Boscolo for a long weekend in August, that just happened to be over St. Istvan's Day. The Boscolo New York Palace is architecturally stunning, with a gorgeous, light-filled central atrium, and has lovely rooms with quite possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in at a hotel. Our bathroom was on the small side, and was really more of a wet room, but it was still quite nice. The attached New York Cafe is full of history and stunning to look at, although the prices are quite high by Hungarian standards. Service is very good, as you would expect from a five star hotel. We had the concierge make a dinner booking for us, and while the restaurant they picked was clearly full of tourists, the food was great and the restaurant itself was in a perfect location for going out afterwards. The only downside is that the hotel's spa was closed for refurbishment while we were there, which the spa staff didn't mention to us when we came down to use it. We only learned it was closed after seeing a sign posted on the area where we intended to go. It would have been nice to know that before getting changed, but that one little blip hardly marred what was truly a wonderful weekend.

The hotel is a bit out of the way from all the central sites closer to the Danube, but the walk is very simple, and of course the metro will get you anywhere you need to go.

A dream setting, an attentive staff, refined cuisine. We loved our stay (too short) and Boscolo. Next trip to Budapest will be here, of course.A big thank you to all staff, efficient, discreet and amiable. Special mention for the team of "New-york salon", the sommelier at the top that allowed us to spend a dream last night. Next time in Budapest, Next time at the Boscolo hôtel
