“Great hotel”
Reviewed 2 July 2012

We just booked a superior room on the internet by booking.com, for two nights, with a total of 150 Euro. We had no breakfast included but 75E /night was ok for a 5 star hotel.
When we got there we parked the car on the street, just outside of the hotel. Sunday and Saturday is free parking on the street, if you can find an available space, and on weekdays is better to take the 12 E hotel underground parking, since one hour of P on the streets costs 400 HUF aprox 1.4 E so the day is 16.8E, more than what the hotel offers you.
When we got at the reception we found out that they have changed our room from a superior to an 2 bedroom and one living room apartment, with kitchen and a large bathroom :) This was just great.
We felt great there, even though i do not think that this is a 5 star hotel...more like 4 and a half, but i do not have any bad things to say about the hotel or the employees.
Definitely a place that worth's the money !

Hotel very good. Room clean and comfortable with kitchen and sitting room area. Staff friendly and helpful - when I rang to ask for a kettle (surprisingly not provided in the kitchen), one arrived at the door within 5mins. Breakfast good with a wide selection of fruit, cereal, meat, cheese, bacon, eggs, bread etc, although at 12Euro each this is a little pricey (we got breakfast included through low cost holidays). Pool, sauna etc very relaxing but check the opening times as it is not open all day.

Location good for walking to the major attractions around the city. (Don't forget to take a copy of your EU passport for free entry to the parliament building.) Other reviews mention that the hotel is situated on the edge of a run down area. This may be true but don't let this put you off. Look beyond the crumbling facade of the nearby buildings and you may get a rather nice surprise. Venture into the Flamingo restaurant (it looks like a disused theatre from the outside) and you will find a Hungarian menu served in beautiful surroundings whilst you listen to live folk music. Also take a short walk to Sufni art pub on Akacfa utca and discover a bar that has been transformed from a derelict building using recycled materials (very cool and very clever).

Overall I would recommend this hotel on quality, price and location.

We booked five nights in the Queens Court Hotel in Budapest and were very pleasantly surprised. It is clean and quiet and the suite was large--a kitchenette, living room and separate bedroom with a separate bathroom and toilet as well. The kitchen had everything we needed, too! The hotel also had a pool and sauna! The location was great--central to all the sites we wanted to see--we could walk almost everywhere and when we couldn't walk the subway was nearby. However, it is not right on a main street, so again, it was very quiet. The outdoor courtyard had a lovely fountain and was a great place to relax, as well. The staff were unfailingly helpful and courteous. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone touristing in Busapest! One more important detail--their air conditioning was fabulous and it was in the 90s the entire time we were there--what a relief it worked and worked well!

I can recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Budapest. We booked a couple of months on time, which perhaps had some influence on the great price!
The hotel is located near many attractions and only 10 minutes walk to the most central parts of Budapest.
The double room we got was really up to our expectations. Living room / kitchen with dishwasher, fridge / freezer and microwave. Bedrooms and two bathrooms and two flat screen TV sets.
Everything was clean and fresh. There was a beautiful Fitness and pool and hot whirlpool.

We loved the Queen's Court Hotel and Residence. The room was enormous- especially for Europe. The solarium and pool were beautiful. All in all, excellent. A couple of tips/issues:

Location: It's not too far to walk to the town center, but the surrounding area is a bit dark at night. It is a ten minute walk to nice restaurants.

Taxis: Take the taxi to the airport. Do NOT take the taxis to local sights from the hotel. They're wildly overpriced.

Staff: The staff wasn't overly friendly. They were fine, but not top notch.

Jacuzzi/Spa: It needs to be much hotter. I asked for it to be turned up, but they left it at luke-warm bath temperature.

Overall, quality for money, this was an outstanding hotel.

This was our first visit to Budapest and the Queen's Court hotel but we will definitely be returning. Our room was well equipped having a microwave, kettle & fridge but most of all it was spotlessly clean. During our stay the weather hit over 30 but the air con kept the room lovely and cool. It was a tiny bit noisy but not enough to disturb one's sleep. All the staff we met were friendly and very helpful, indeed on the day of my wife's birthday we returned to find a lovely note and gift had been left in our room. The location is good being in the Old Jewish quarter where there are lots of bars and good value restaurants but at night we were sheltered from any noise as our room faced a pretty courtyard. We found the Danube and the Chain Bridge to be within easy walking distance as were most of the tourist attractions. We would also recommend the Free Walking Tours which are a great way of finding your way around and if you like anything
quirky check out the 'ruin' bars. Can't wait to return to this beautiful city!

We stayed here from 13th to 17 June 2012, having booked it as a part of a Thomas Cook holiday through an internet agent called WWTE. From the description we assumed there would be a fully equipped kitchenette so we could cook our own meals. I am a coeliac, which means I get an autoimmune reaction to even small amounts of wheat or barley gluten, so no bread, flour, pastry, beer; in fact most foods in Budapest are wheat based. We thought we might be able to heat food up in the room. There was a microwave with a grill inside it but it took us ages to figure how it worked and even then we could only cook scrambled eggs (took ages) and my special gluten free bread that I took with me. We bought salad, cheese and ham from the local Spar and had that for lunches. It was difficult putting anything in the fridge because it was also the minibar, and was packed with overpriced bottles of beer that I couldn't drink, tiny expensive bottles of wine and spirit, and some overpriced snacks that I couldn't eat.
For evening meals, the restaurant was very good. Nice polite English speaking staff who, once I had showed them my gluten free information card, were able to offer many of the meals on the menu without gluten. A typical meal for two with wine cost around 10000HUF ( £30). Not huge portions but very well prepared. The room was nice and clean with a tiny balcony that the armchairs in the room just fitted onto. The large bed had two seperate quilts, which was good. The only english TV channel I could find was the BBC news channel. The 'spa' downstairs was a nice touch, with a small pool with a jet at one end that I turned on accidentally and couldn't find how to turn off ( button in middle at top, under water). The jaccuzzi was nice. The sauna was hot (90 C) and I couldn't figure how to control it, but I still tried it. The small lift was very slow to respond. Did I like it? Yes. Would I return? Definitely, but I would know what to expect. It is only a short walk to the 4 and 6 trams outside, and the Metro 2 and 3 are at each end of the road. Great for getting around. We found a real quirky bar complex down a back street, packed with people and wine at 400 HUF a glass.
