I took a group of nine people, including seven high school students, to Hungary for a conference. We stayed in this hostel for a total of five nights, and were constantly amazed at the value we got for our money! Before the trip, the staff were really communicative and helpful by email. Then, once we arrived, the rooms were comfortable, quiet, attractive and clean. We had a great cheap breakfast there every morning. It's a short walk to the Danube, and everything is easily accessible including the trains and buses. The staff helped book tickets for us, and knew everything there was to know about Budapest. We felt totally safe and cared for, and will come back at the first opportunity!

I like to stay in apartments when I go on vacation (whenever possible) since I feel going to the store and cooking some on your own is a fun part of the trip.

Anyway, I was not expecting what I got from the Art Apartment, it was HUGE. It looked like a good size apartment on the pictures I saw, but it was indeed super big. Almost too big for 2 people. Also it was very fresh, semi-modern. Fridge and freezer available as well as stove and oven, very well equipped. Great with separate bathroom and toilet.

Communication with the staff was effortless and they were helpful when we needed them.

Only thing I wished for was an AC, but I slept well nonetheless (turned the fan up to max).

We stayed in one of apartment. Apartment is really nice and super clean. You have everything in apartment what you need. So there are 2 rooms one is with double bed and another is with 2 single beds, it is also great for families with small children bc there is baby crib.
Area is also very nice, with great restaurnats and it is on walking distance from Vaci utca.

We were delighted with Aventura Hostel as it has a stylish yet "homey" atmosphere that was really great to stay in whilst interrailing. The hostel is very close to the main train station and is situated in an apartment block. We stayed in the 6 bed India Room and despite there being a little confusion with which beds were vacent, the staff were quick to rectify the situation. The room was totally unique and staying at the hostel was an experience in itself! Underneath the beds are two chests where you can easily padlock a large rucksack away safely. Although there is only one toilet for each of the sexes, the hostel is very clean so it is not an issue and the girls shower room does have a lock on it if you're worried about privacy. They also offer three different types of breakfasts which are only a couple of euros and do really fill you up! Location wise, it's right next to a huge plaza that has plenty of restaurants/bars to choose from and it is only a 15 minute walk to Margaret Island (you can get the bus/tram if you don't fancy the walk!) Overall what really made the hostel for us were the staff and the atmosphere (it really felt like home after only three nights!) The staff were beyond helpful and they also provide a laundry service for 1,500 HUF (roughly £5) where you can get a huge wash basket of clothes washed and dryed in an hour - a godsend for travellers! We loved Budapest and we hope to go back again soon and if we do, we'd choose no other place than Aventura!

My partner and I stayed in the Japan room which is right behind the reception desk, and at the front of the hostel as a whole. It was so hot in Budapest when we were there that we has to open the windows at night to have any chance of being cool. Unfortunately that meant opening windows into the stairwell leading up to the hostel. Drunk people returning at 3am are not quiet. Neither was the receptionist at night. Someone is there 24hrs a day, and to pass the time at night, one receptionist was watching a movie on the computer loudly in the early hours of the morning. Our bed was a foam mattress in a wooden box on the floor and very uncomfortable. The women's showers are in the same room as the laundry, meaning locking the door stopped access to the laundry whilst you showered. The only thing I liked about this hostel was the location. Nice part of town close to metro station.

I stayed in the Africa room for about 3 days total and it was a great experience! Comfy beds, friendly, knowledgeable staff, awesome location. It was a great spot to go sight seeing from and it was nice to feel like I had somewhere calm and safe to crash at the end of a busy day of walking around. The breakfast downstairs was really delicious and reasonably priced too! The only negative I can think of is that you have to cross through the kitchen to get to the girls' shower and there wasn't really anywhere to hang/set my clothes in the shower room, but it was a relatively small inconvenience.

Room Tip: The Africa room has a pretty nice hammock!

Spent several nights in the "Retro Apartment", yes its a metro stop away from the main hostel but in reality 2min on train or 10min walk.

The apartment is well appointed, great position and sadly for me no aircon, but being in Budapest during an abnormal hot spell (38 - 40 deg C) is not the fault of the hostel.

The staff could not have been more helpful, Agnes and everyone were honestly amazing and I can not fault them in anyway. Honestly cant comment on the main hostel as did not visit often.
