“Nice city break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

We booked a three night city break with Jet2 and overall thought the hotel good.

We had a double and single for our daughter. Her single room was larger than our twin plus her en suite twice the size!

Breakfast on the first morning was crowded with many sharing tables, but this became quieter over the weekend.

Staff extremely friendly and helpfull. Cleaners didn't wash up tea cups or remover to fit pillow case removed, but otherwise room clean and tidy.

Location in a quiet location with easy tram and Metro links to Buda and Pest. Plenty of restaurants locally if you ask reception.

Room Tip: All rooms internal, so darkish and noisy with air con on all night.

Really lovely hotel. Rooms are slightly small but modern, comfy & very clean. Location is good, train station not too far away, which we used a lot. Budapest was one of my favourite places & I would go back & definitely stay in this hotel again. Breakfast was nice, open plan style inside the hotel made it very light & airy. Highly recommend this hotel. Lots of nice sights to see in Budapest, Memento Park is worth a visit & climbing the pathways up the hills over the bridge, provide stunning views over Budapest. Local restaurants were hit & miss for us.

The rooms are nicely furnished with comfortable beds, mini bar, LED TV, WiFi, and spacious bathroom.
Breakfast was elaborated with variety juices, confectionary items, scrambled eggs, salads, tea, coffee dispensers.
The restaurant was ambiant with natural sunlight giving a feeling of freshness.
I recommend this hotel due to its central location with bus, train and tram services only at a stone through distance.

we stayed here for 2 nights...the hotel its self was very nice & very modern..the rooms were on the small size but it did us & the bed was comfy, the breakfasts were good..and we had a few drinks in the bar at night..though not much of an atmosphere to say the world cup was on...the staff were very friendly & helpful..the downside for me was the area...plenty of buses & trams to get about..but like the previous review i als thought the area was a bit dodgy.

stayed here for 4 nights in early June 2014. Booked via the BA website as I'd used them before and they don't disappoint. Reasonably sized room with comfy beds, TV, safe, tea, coffee, fridge etc, but to be honest the only one of these we used was the safe because we were up early every day so as to do as much sight-seeing as possible.
It's about 20 minutes walk to the Danube, 20 minutes walk to the city centre. There is a metro station and two tram stops close to the hotel but we didn't use either, prefering to get out and 'feel' the surroundings.

Food: breakfast was fine, and I was perfectly happy with the selection of meats, breads, hot food etc. It certainly set you up for the day. The breakfast is taken in the 'Atrium' itself.

Bar: A little disappointed that the bar was closed 'for technical reasons' on two occasions, when we really fancied a night cap after a heavy day of sights and food and walking and getting cultured. But then again the little shop next door to the Chinese across the road was open all hours, so problem solved.

Around: not the best area I have ever stayed in, but then again not the worst. It was a bit noisy at night, trams and buses etc, and then they all started up again very early in the morning it appeared. We had a room at the front so had windows (which some rooms don't appear to have) but leaving them open all night wasn't the best decision we had ever made. However !! we never felt threatened or unsafe when returning to the hotel even very late at night.

To Do: Obvious places are the castle and the banks of the Danube. I'd suggest also (for the reasonably fit ... walk from the hotel, cross the Elisabeth bridge and climb to the Citadel, then down to the Szabadsag bridge and go into the food market, then walk back to the city through the pedestrianized area opposite the market.
Shun the funicular railway, walk up the road to the left of it, then cut through an opening in the wall and walk up to the castle. There is a very convenient bar at the top of the path .
Go to the Opera House and do the guided tour
If you see flyers for a concert at St Matthius church, go and do it. The acoustics are great and the church is beautifully decorated.
Take a trip on the Danube ... £7 for a 1 hour cruise
Get ice creams at Gerbeaud's

Room Tip: I'd try and get one at the front, but take earplugs just in case

Room was a little cramped but sufficient. Breakfast was very good, not sensational but very good. Watched a few world cup games in the bar, would've liked an atmosphere however it was fine. This hotel is very central with excellent access to a second to none public transport system. The hotel picture shows a very nice hotel, which it is, but it doesn't show the buildings either side and the homeless binhokers. Hotel staff were brilliant, they could'nt have been more helpful. Budapest by and large is a safe and magnificent city to visit, we had a fabulous break with lots to see.

We decided to stay here for 7 #nights in #July.
The room we got was small but very clean and nice. One of my favorite colors is green, so I liked the style. The mattress was quite comfortable for my back. sometimes I have pain after pregnancies. Very small fridge-bar. But there is a place to put smth small like yogurt We bought in the nearest shop. There is a small TV (Philips),#phone, set of #kettle, 2 #cups, 2 #sticks of #coffee 3 in 1, 2 sweeteners and 2 sugars, 2 tea bags.
The WC was very clean, Shower was great!!!! BUT I have found A LONG BLACK HAIR on the soap near the sink. I didn't tell that to my husband, because he could be very upset. But I throw it away. And, by the way, there was no plastic bag for garbage in the room, I said about that at the reception, but nothing happened. so...we continued to throw away to that empty bin.
Anyway, I would like to recommend this place to young couples, families with 1 child, and mature ones.
Thanks to a very friendly staff.!!!

Thank you very much for sharing your valuable and candid comment with us. It was a pleasure to read that you were satisfied with the room facilities and our friendly staff. Your mentioning about the soap is absolutely important to us in order to avoid any similar inconveniences in the future and also we will reconsider the opportunity of providing a plastic bag for the garbage. Thank you for being our guest and thank you for the recommendation!
We look forward to welcoming you in our Atrium Fashion Hotel again,
