If you love Prague you will love Budapest. Our hotel was on the Buda side and I liked it
as it is quiet in the evening and the views of the city are great. We walked down and across
the river but got the 16 bus back up from Deak Terrace. On the Buda side there are lots
of nice little restaurants to choses from. For the night-life the Pest side is more lively.

In April my friend and I spend 3 lovely days at the St. George. It is a small boutique hotel, and it is beautifully appointed. It has a lovely full breakfast in the cost of the room, and a bar and restuarant for lunch and dinner on site. It is very convenient to explore the Buda side of the city, and city transport is readily available to go to Pest. For those with better feet than I, you can walk to the other side in about 20 minutes. The staff is very helpful, and the only thing which is a drawback, is that there is no elevator. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: We had a suite on the third floor that was HUGE. I did not see the other rooms.

We stayed over the Easter bank holiday in this wonderful hotel, we were in room 14, which is a quiet room at the side of the hotel. The in-laws stayed in room 11.

Both rooms were superb, room 11 had a jacuzzi bath, and our room have a large dining tab,e for drinks.

We received a bottle of wine on arrival, and drank it in the courtyard garden - as the weather was 28' and sunny.

I would highly recommend this hotel, but ask for a quiet room to ensure you are not on the main road.

Room Tip: As I said earlier room 11 and 14 were great rooms.

We stayed at the St. George in April and were extremely happy with our suite of rooms, the hospitality, and the dining room. The location is great -- up on the Buda hill, just a short walk from the castle and the Fisherman's Bastion and within easy reach of many restaurants as well as the bus. We got a palatial suite of rooms for the same kind of prices we were paying for very mediocre, much smaller rooms in other European cities. The dining room served excellent food and wine -- our only possible complaint might be that it does not stay open very late at night.
We would return to this hotel in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: I would recommend a room as far from the main stairway as possible, as the floors are marble and it...

Very good old style hotel, lots of character in the form of grand room sizes, huge pieces of furniture and oil paintings on the wall. A world away from standard international hotel but nothing shabby and bathrooms bang up to the minute. Quiet, set around a courtyard in a great location close by the main sights. Not much not to like except maybe the lack of a lift. You might struggle if you're addicted to beige but despite the ormulu and suits of armour it still had a homely feel. We gave the restaurant a miss as it seemed a bit oppressive but there are lots of alternatives nearby. Avoid breakfast unless you are on an expense account

We rented the Diamond Suite and it was absolutely perfect. Definitely ask Victoria to help you out when you need something special like flowers, cards, champagne or whatever you need to make your stay even more special or romantic. Victoria arranged all these things perfectly and she greeted us at arrival in the most friendly and professional way. The rooms themselves are very beautiful and give you the idea that you are sleeping in a castle. The room was very clean and provided all necessary things to make it a comfortable stay. Cost/quality wise this stay was worth every euro. I will definitely go back when returning to Budapest.

Unfortunately the restaurant closed very early that night (around 21h) and although we had a free complementary drink voucher we decided to skip it and choose a restaurant across the street. The early closing had to do with not having customers that evening. It is understandable since the hotel is located in a very quiet street and outside the tourists season I guess not many people find their way to the restaurant. It didn't ruin our mood since the room itself was so beautiful. But maybe a point for attention if you are staying and you want to eat at the hotel's restaurant. Don't go too late. All the rest was just perfect!

Original character hotel in the Buda Castle Quarter area of Budapest, Hungary.
Attentive staff, clean and large rooms, free parking outside the hotel. If you have a car, use this hotel as it's so easy to get in and out what is restrictive parking area, but free for hotel visitors.
Avoid dinning in the restaurant as it was lucking a charm and taste. My first goolash was a disaster. try restaurant 21 or The King, just round the corner, but stay in this hotel, as am sure it's worth every penny you pay.
We didn;t have breakfast there, as for some reason it wasn't included in the deal we had, but it is included in Expedia and Booking.com sites. Breakfast was E12.00 per person. Sooooo... Go, enjoy and fall in love. x

Room Tip: as nicely and you might just en up in a better room than the once you've booked. i wasn't pl...
