Owner description: Miniversum is one of the largest miniature exhibitions in the world, a top 10 place to visit when you are in Budapest. You can discover most of the sights and landmarks from Budapest and Hungary as well as a bit of Austria and Germany. Much to see in one stop: over 5000 miniature figures, 1000 motor cars and 100 trains are in motion in 14 towns and cities on the 1200 metres of rail tracks. There are interactive screens that show original photos of the sights on the layout, so that you can compare the miniature with the original. You can also control the ongoing traffic here and there and bring to life all sorts of actions, motions, sound and light effects. After exploring all amusing details the little ones can play free of charge at the Miniversum playhouse while adults can enjoy some time out with drinks and snacks in the Café. For those interested in technology the Miniversum control room with its huge monitor wall offers a fascinating experience to observe the operation of the exhibition. As a matter of fact, it is difficult to put into words or show on pictures what you are going to see. Come and experience MINIVERSUM with us, we will surely take your breath away! Let yourself be enchanted and you will grow to discover that it is "just like the real thing", and how crazy and miniscule things we could construct in the mini world of MINIVERSUM. Visit Miniversum, explore, behold and control it yourself!

Miniversum is a superb idea: a realistic model railway museum with fantastically thought out scenes that captivate and enchant. A delight for children and adults alike, the smooth motion of the trains really brings the detail in the scenes to life, and the child-like wonder on visitors' faces shows the value of the experience. There's also a convenient café making it ideal as a lunchtime stop on a stroll down into town from Heroes Square. Highly recommended!

If you & your children love trains, you should go to Miniversum. You'll see many trains go across the city, in the tunnel, on the bridge... Your children can also play with trains & have some snacks there.

I was traveling budapest with my partner and read the information about the Miniversum on the map. It seem interested, so we decided to go there. It was really nice. Many cool stuff there. We both enjoyed it. I also had been to the one in Hamburg before. Both of them are same the theme, but i found each of them have their own unique thing in it. It was really fun to visit. I do hope the gifts shop can be more bigger and more choices from the souvernir. I do know that it just opened about a week ago when we were there. So that is fine. We would like to visit again next time when we are in Budapest.

Although only 7 days since it opened, we had a great experience. My 4 year old son and I both had an equally fun time enjoying this train utopia for over 2.5 hours. Although you can walk through the exhibit in 15 minutes, you are not doing it justice. You should stop and marvel at the amazingly intricate details and hidden secrets in this incredibly realistic recreations of various real places (at least one hour). Take a break in the café and then spend the real time allowing your child or you (I admit I participated), in building your own tracks and playing with real models.
I am not a train aficionado, however my son and I spent over 1.5 hours playing with trains. One tip: read the brochure and learn the code for pressing buttons throughout the exhibit so that you can make things light up, move or make sound. Enjoy!
