Hotel Central Basilica

This hotel is in a great location in central Pest. Right next to some of the best this beautiful city has to offer. Walking distance to a variety of great restaurants and close to the metro central hub. Our room was nice. High celling and no noise offered a good night sleep in a comfortable and big bed. TV is a bit outdated and there is no comp wifi. Breakfast is good and the staff helpfull. Would stay again.

This is a great location to base yourself for a stay in Budapest. Central to everything in Pest and just a couple of minutes walk from the Chain Bridge to cross to Buda. Large, comfy room with a huge bathroom. The air con worked on day one but not afterwards. This was not an issue as being on the back of the hotel, it was fine to keep the window open and not at all noisy.
Breakfast is a pretty good quality continental breakfast with a few hot choices too - served until 7- 10am which was flexible.
Only downside - some (not all) of the service at reception was brusque to say the least. The documents in the room stated checkout as 10am, this was confirmed by 2 gentlemen at reception when I asked as it seemed rather early. On our last night, when the Front Desk Manager was on duty, he told us the room can be kept until 12 noon. If you have a late flight home like us, it makes a difference what time you relinquish your room. Also, we arrived at 13:40. Apparently, check in is from 14:00 and again the staff on reception were rather inflexible and insisted we went away until 14:00. Not an issue as there are some lovely places close by to get a beer and wait but I honestly didn't believe the 20 mins made a difference. A minor annoyance that irritated me but did not spoil the experience of this hotel.

Room Tip: A room not facing the front street will definately be quiet.

The hotel is a small ideally situated hotel in Central Budapest. The hotel is clean and comfortable with excellent shower, the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite good continental style. Only complaint was the poor towels and air con not working. No bar in hotel but plenty of lovely bars nearby so no issue. Excellent central position to explore the city.

We found this hotel welcoming and friendly with very good service in all aspects. The rooms were spacious ,clean and well serviced. The breakfast selection was very comprehensive though there were intermittent shortages of essential ie cups, spoons etc. The location however was exceptional ,partially pedestrianised and 50m from the magnificent Basilica and 100m from the main transport links for the city, there was also a large selection of restaurants and entertainment close by. We would stay there again.

Great location near to the Basilica, spacious room with good bathroom but with stupidly low shower. Good helpful staff. Adequate breakfast. Thin towels. It has all been said in previous reviews but has not made any difference to the hotel quality.

We have just spent 4 nights at the hotel and loved it. The reception staff were very helpful, the room overlooking the central courtyard was very clean, spacious and quiet (could still hear the Basilica bells in the morning though!) We requested a room with a shower before we arrived and this was granted (it was a really good shower too), and we asked for extra pillows as there was only one each provided. The location is fantastic, central to everything. We didn't buy the wifi in the hotel as there are plenty of bars and restaurants with free wifi. The breakfast was fine, though, like other reviewers would have liked a toaster as the hot breakfasts on some morning weren't to our taste. There were lots of other things to chose from though.
Would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely use again.
