“Good quality for great value”
Reviewed 20 December 2012

Hotel location is very good for tourist, who want to walk around and don´t need to use public transport. You can left your car in front of the hotel on the street and tax is 400 Huf per hour from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. If you want, hotel can reserve for you parking place for 14 E per day.
Room is classic modern hotel standard room. TV is too small, and there is not enough of channels for foreins. Heating is ok, and in our room was big balcony - it was great. To be serious, room is smaller than we expected, but not it was not the problem for us.
Breakfast is fine, classic selection but in breakfast hall was cold...take sweater :-)

We stayed here for four nights the end of November. It was our second visit to Budapest this year and decided to pick a different hotel this time. Of course the location of this hotel is excellent, everything is within walking distance. The hotel is very good. We had a room facing the courtyard which was very quiet. Very good room, excellent lighting for reading, free WI Fi in the rooms also. Lovely bathroom and both it and the bedroom was spotless. Very comfortable beds. Also the windows can be opened. Must say that the wardrobe space was quite small, especially for hanging clothes.
Reception staff were efficient and helpful, they got friendlier each day of our stay.
Breakfast was quite good, usual European fare, very tasty breads and lots of pastries.
We were not flying until evening and we were allowed to check out later and our luggage was stored until we left.
We would definitely stay here again and would reccomend it.

Room Tip: For a quiet room choose one on the courtyard side.

Excellent location close to most tourist attractions such as St Stephens Basilica, Synagogue, Parliament buildings to mention a few. Open top bus tours start just accross the road and are very good value for money. This hotel is also located within 5 mins walk of the Christmas market which we found very disappointing and goods were extremely overpriced in our opinion. The hotel itself would be 3 star standard, Our room was bright and spacious with a bath facility. Tea making facilities do not exist in the room mores the pity! Breakfast was pretty basic with not a lot to choose from, however, the breads are lovely. you wont go hungry! Reception staff were helpful with very good English. All in all pretty good value for money

Room Tip: We were in room 507 next to store room for cleaners. We were awakened early each morning by the cle...

Carat Boutique Hotel is in a really good location to explore the city without necessarily having to use public transport, which is great if you're just in a short break. We found that the service at reception was a little curt - perfectly polite, but we did feel we were being difficult even when asking basic questions. The room was also slightly disappointing, with the furnishings looking a bit worn and tatty. On the upside, the breakfast was good and the bar is a nice place to start an evening. The hotel was perfectly fine for a short stay, but I had hoped for better.

Excellent location, metro and many tourist attractions nearby. Clean and peaceful hotel. Customer service could have been bit more friendly but this rudeness seemed to be quite common in Hungary. Breakfast was quite basic but the overall value for money was very good!

Nice clean hotel. Housekeeping done to very high standard. Customer service on reception desk was very poor, rude and unfriendly. Breakfast was very nice with decent selection. Our experience could be a way better if customer service was improved.
We took advantage of the offer on price of the stay and upon the arrival we where told that the price covers only one person stay and that I needed to pay more. I understand that mistakes are made, but the way we were made to feel could have been a lot better. It was implied that we were in some way ripping off the hotel, and it seemed that the receptionist was paranoid that we wouldn't pay the extra. She seemed to want us to pay straight away. When we proved that our booking was for two people, there was no hint of an apology, just a remark that the price we paid was unusual.

Room Tip: Rooms facing main road could be a bit noise.

The rooms are spacious and clean. Service is good and the breakfast is varied. Situated at the heart of the city, its a perfect play to stay on business and leisure trips. A stone's throwaway from most of the tourist attractions, its surronded by numerous upscale good bars and restaurants.

Good value for money!

Room Tip: There are few rooms with balcony which open towards the main street.
