Perfect free wifi, decent breakfast with two kinds of eggs, fresh fruit, breads and other basics, quiet room, excellent location. The strange shower had perfect water pressure etc., but the awkward location and high tub sides will pose problems for people with mobility isses. And, both tub floor and bathroom floor are dangerously slippery.
Our bed and pillows were lumpy to a fault, but the room was deliciously quiet enough that we could sleep anyway.
Desk staff has perfect English and is helpful.

I really liked my stay at this hotel. Rooms were tidy and clean, especially the larger one that had bath. Great location too. Lovely breakfast area too. It was a pleasant stay and I would recommend it to anyone who visits Budapest.

Room Tip: Chose a bigger room, it will have more space to move and place your stuff. :)

What is best about this hotel is its location - super convenient, easy to get to any attraction. It is also clean and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good - but could be improved by providing better quality food. Anyway, it made my Budapest trip a memorable one !

We liked Carat hotel, the location is great if you want to be near the old city center. The rooms are quite small but sufficient for 2 people, but it needs a refurbishment, at least painted walls and appliances in the bathroom. And if you have the room facing the street you cannot sleep during weekends from the noise...This was the big downsize of this hotel...
Very helpful staff at reception, very good breackfast.

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip. It was quiet (asked for a courtyard facing room) so the busy street out front did not bother me, I slept very well. Rooms are neat and tidy and I enjoyed my stay for the 6 days. The included breakfast was great, quite a variety of food and I could relax and also catch up on emails etc while having breakfast with the free wifi! I really enjoyed my stay, would definitely recommend the hotel.

We chose this hotel primarily for the location having mobility problems. Only 100m away is the Metro, trams 47,49, Bus 9 and 16, also the sightseeing bus stops. Good restaurants are also in the area. Taking advice from other Tripadvisors we asked for a quiet room. We had a room on the 1st floor overlooking the courtyard and it was extremely quiet and spacious. We took our own kettle for the room and used the fridge for our cold drinks.
We arrived early and they stored our baggage in their luggage room. Reception was good and everyone was charming. As our flight out was not until late evening we arranged to keep our room until 6pm.
The breakfast was more than adequate and had enough variation and quantity to keep me happy.
In summary a very good hotel for the price paid - the location being one of the best in central Pest.

Room Tip: If you want it quiet you will not get a view but ask for a room at the back.

The first room we had was on the fifth floor but the noise from the road was dreadful, when I asked for a change of room the Lady on reception rolled her eyes and could not move us until the next day which I have to say she did with no problem at all.

The rooms are small cramped and cheaply furnished only one chair and you had to shuffle it around to find a place sit on it.

The Hotel has been expensively fitted in the public areas but not in the rooms.

The breakfast is poor and a queue forms at the coffee machine why can't a four star hotel offer drinks served to your table?
The attached coffee and drinks bar is small and cramped but well run by a helpful barmaid.
We were very disappointed in this Hotel as I expected a lot more from the reviews and photos.

We will not return.
