Dinner at Callas, where we dined outside on a beautiful August evening in Budapest, was a real pleasure where wine, food and music all came together to create a perfect night. The menu, which features both traditional Hungarian dishes such as Veal Paprikas and modern interpretations based on local ingredients, was thoughtful and creative. The atmosphere was delightful, with musicians (violin, piano) and vocalists presenting a variety of delightful music from Mozart to Puccini to Hungarian waltzes and folk tunes. The wine list featured a good selection of mostly Hungarian wines highlighting the talents of local vineyards. We quite happily could have eaten here every night of our stay in Budapest ( though we then would have missed out on a number of other culinary delights in this really delightful city.
