We came to this restaurant after it was recommended by the hotel reception. Had a lovely night here: good food and great atmosphere thanks to the musicians! We tried out the local dishes and the traditional Unicum. The staff is very friendly. Would definitely go back!

We stopped by for a mid afternoon, late lunch. While there we were serenaded by a traditional three piece Hungarian Gypsy Band which featured an amazing violinist. We both had the Lamb with Moroccan Vegetables and found it delicious! This cafe has a pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. Located next door to the Opera. This is not an low price luncheon but is well worth the price. Highly Recommend!

We were here for lunch which was fine...the veal in paprika is recommended...I suggest if you are here for lunch ask for the "Business Lunch" Menu otherwise you will be steered to the dinner menu is rather heavy if you are looking for a light lunch option. If the "Gypsy" musicians are playing they are charming, but will be at your table pushing a CD if you show any interest...aside from that, I recommend Callas Cafe.

We had visited Callas on our last trip in 2010 & were looking forward to going again.
This restaurant does not disappoint , they have raised good service to an art form, & nothing is left to chance . The food is sublime, certainly not cheap , but worth every cent, especially when you have been anticipating a real treat !
The decor is charming, with beautiful traditional architecture & fittings ( ask for a table inside to enjoy this ) & dinner is accompanied by a 4 piece orchestra ( we are next door to the Opera after all) . On some evenings they also have an opera singer , but we missed out on that.
Relative to Aussie prices for dining out, it is really good value .
Highly recommend Callas for a special night out in Budapest .
