Food was very tasty, though service was varying. I was a business traveller on my own and felt the service was noticeably 'cooler' than with some of the paired guests. Could be considered a little stuck up. Other than that, the service was fine. Take into account that the tip (borravaló) is already included in the bill (irrespective of party size). The restaurant looks nice, clean and quite posh (not cheap for local standards). Best thing was definitely the food, which was spot on both times I went. Had a lovely duck dish one night - nicely crisp skin and perfectly pink inside, and lamb shank the other night - which fell of the bone, so tender. They even had a gluten free chocolate tart, very yummy! Would recommend for the food, if nothing else.

Ate dinner here the Sunday evening of our stay and were variously entertained by a musical trio who ran through a number of polkas, traditional dancers and a couple of arias. I'll admit that I usually hate music while I eat but it was hard to resist the enthusiasm of all of the performers. The food was lovely - we went with duck breast and the truffled half chicken then shared a couple of the many delicious looking cakes on offer. Service is a little slow but is nonetheless charming. This is a lovely setting - in the style of a grand European café on a wide boulevard fringed with mature trees. Well worth a visit.

We ate lunch here just before leaving Budapest after a lovely 5-day break.

The menu with which we were presented was more like a dinner menu , with quite a high price attached too for Budapest. But we had heard about this in advance and so we did spot a lunch menu on another table and chose from the lighter options it offered. The food was well prepared, but not spectacular so not really good value. The service was OK but not great - we felt the staff were a bit stiff and unfriendly.

The restaurant is however right on the corner overlooking Andrassy Street so it's a nice place to sit out in good weather to people watch. There was a trio of musicians playing traditional music whilst we were there, who were rather pushy and intrusive. They even moved closer to our table (we were initially the non-locals there) in an attempt to get a big tip - unfortunately their antics rather got on our nerves to the point where the tip became somewhat reduced as a result!

There are other places very closeby which would offer delicious food at a much more sensible price.

We came to this restaurant after it was recommended by the hotel reception. Had a lovely night here: good food and great atmosphere thanks to the musicians! We tried out the local dishes and the traditional Unicum. The staff is very friendly. Would definitely go back!

We stopped by for a mid afternoon, late lunch. While there we were serenaded by a traditional three piece Hungarian Gypsy Band which featured an amazing violinist. We both had the Lamb with Moroccan Vegetables and found it delicious! This cafe has a pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. Located next door to the Opera. This is not an low price luncheon but is well worth the price. Highly Recommend!
