We stopped in here for a quick pre-opera glass of champagne and it was lovely. It seemed to also be called the Bollinger Bar and had some great artefacts around. A lovely classy place and the perfect place for a classy glass of Bollinger.

This is a great find, and although this is incrementally more expensive than other places, but this is for a reason. The coffee and cakes were excellent, the cakes were not too sweet. The staff were attentive and the architecture makes it well worth a visit. Would recommend.

Researched for post opera meal. Restaurant excellent communication for booking and offering a vegetarian option. On arrival just a couple of tables taken, no atmosphere which is a shame as the setting is very nice. The waiter from start to finish appeared to be on drinks hard sale, continually topping up our wine despite trying to say to him we were fine. This made us uncomfortable as felt we were constantly being watched. 3 rib eye steaks were tasteless, a fillet steak was slightly better. Suckling pig was described as having crackling, this was just browned skin and was soft. The dish came with dumplings which turned out to be fried bread; the sauce reduction was so salty that I could not eat it. The vegetarian option was OK. Starters were fine. We had hoped for a lovely meal after a wonderful eve at the ballet.

We went to find the location of the Opera House the day before La Boheme and slipped in to Callas to see what it was like, on the main Strasse for shopping, close to the centre. We booked a table for dinner after the opera. The menu we were recommended hit the spot, but what followed was magical - the Maitre D picked up a violin, his colleagues a cello and a piano, for over an hour they played to their best and we were chuffed to bits.
Thank you all, you made Budapest a magical memory for us
