“Delicious food”
Reviewed 2 July 2014 via mobile

A couple we met in a bar recommended this place to eat. We arrived without a reservation but they were very accommodating giving us a lovely window table. We had goose and it was absolutely delicious. There was a wonderful man who played the piano, and we sang along. The staff were very friendly and fun. I would definitely go back to this place again.

“Excellent food, great atmosphere, friendly staff”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

This restaurant was fantastic!

The decor was dark red walls with 1920s and 1930s style theatre posters. It was warm and cosy and very inviting - just what you need on a cold and dark November night.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and very polite. The food was homey and comforting, a mixture of traditional Jewish and Hungarian fare, but exceptionally tasty and of a fantastic quality.

There was live music, on this night a piano player, but the restaurant produces a monthly list of events that will be taking place, so there is always something different.

The whole experience created a relaxed, warm and inviting atmosphere where we didn't feel rushed and could eat our meal at leisure.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

“Wonderful place”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

We had the best dinner of our trip in Spinoza when visiting Budapest couple of weeks ago. The place was crowded but very cozy, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was superb, traditional jewish and hungarian dishes. Highly recommended!

“Great meal!”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

My husband and I stumbled upon this place while wandering around the Jewish Quarter on our last night in Budapest. It was dinner time, and although we didn't have reservations, they were happy to find us a table. It was still kind of early, and the restaurant filled up so I would recommend reserving. There was excellent live music, and the menu was a great combination of traditional Hungarian and some Jewish specialities. They wine list was very good. We shared the cheese plate (great selections and plenty for two!), I had stuffed cabbage and my husband had a burger (he had had his fill of Hungarian food by then...). Both were great, although I think mine was better! We shared a lovely dessert and enjoyed a great bottle of Hungarian wine. Overall, a great way to end our trip to a lovely city!
