This hotel is in serious need of renovation. It was built in the mid 80's and doesn't appear to have been updated since then. The average age of most guests during our stay was about 60 which appears to be the clientele the Danubius hotel caters to most.

The lobby is old, dark, and dated. The the carpets are stained and the thread bare, the hallways smell and need paint job. The furniture in many of the rooms are severely scratched. It's a 4 star hotel but I've had better linens in a 2 star, exactly 2 small pillows and a comforter so thin it may as well have been a blanket. Old bulky tvs with bad reception, no in room safe or iron, and an unstocked minibar were some of the highlights of the room.

The spa area is small for the size of this hotel with it's 200+ rooms, overcrowded, and again in serious need of updating not to mention cleaning. There is mold in certain areas of the indoor/outdoor pool and grout that needs to be cleaned and fixed throughout all the pools. A spa area should should appear bright, clean, and inviting and sadly that was definitely NOT the case at this hotel. The food an only be described as mediocre at best except for the "snacks" which were pretty good. The hotel staff were friendly BUT I will not be returning. It was a mediocre thermal spa and unless you are getting a great deal on the daily rates the value for your money just is NOT there.

Average termal spa resort with good termal baths and pools and medical programs. I was there off season (November), from Friday to Monday very crowded (many families come for weekend fares and pools and restaurant gets overcrowded), but on weekdays its very quiet. Definitely, not for solo travelers unless need quiet time in the countryside. From November was all-inclusive, food was not very sophisticated, but good: breakfast and lunch did not very much. Wine and beer is included.
SPA - is quiet limited (personnel works till 14 - 15) but not expensive.

Among advantages:
- Good termal facilities: swimming pool, termal pool, warm outdoor pool and cool advantage pool (half inside - half outside) with good fun water jet facilities;
- Friendly stuff (not always speaking English however);
- Sport classes (out of 3 instructors only one spoke English, but she was really good and helpful);
- Medical program (good renovated facilities).

Disadvantages:
- Personnel speaks Hungarian and German, English is not widely used (however on average ok): can not join excursions and average medical assistance could have been better if they spoke good English;
- Gym is very small and not well equipped, however advertised on site and world class.

Room Tip: Good rooms on 6th floor for small extra charge. Ask for view on the garden and pool area

I was in this hotel many times, usually spending my first week of holiday in august but its the first time that I do a review of it. I suggest to book at 6th floor,where the rooms were refurbished some years ago. The daily rate is a big higher,but the the rooms are more confortable. Dinner is served with buffet style, the food selection is limited but the quality is good enough. The thermal services are very good. If you have luck to have sunny weather, the garden is really fantastic.The ratio quality price is very good, but pay attention to the cost of the extras, expecially of the wines.

Room Tip: The best are on the 6th floor with the front on the garden

After very positive last year´s experiences we reapeatedly decided spending 5 days at this hotel. We recommend it to all who look for quiet but active resting time. Everything in under one roof - all pools connected with open air warm pool with exciting adventures.
Really very,very goog kitchem offered by buffet form plenty of various dishes, all of them fully appetizing. Staff was highly proffesional, sufficiently abble speaking with us in German and Enlish too.
Also during winter time locality of Bukfurdo offered us possibilities of making walkings throughut or arround this enjoyable spa center.
