We were so happy on arrival at the Millenium as we had great rooms, with stunning views over Pecs and all within walking distance of the old town. (Although the uphill return walk, is a little bit stiff, we didn't find that to be a problem at all!).

However, we had a few perfect hot, summery days when we got to Pecs, and the aircons weren't working! I felt sorry for the staff who had to calm everyone down, as some of the rooms had windows which could open and at least help you breathe especially at night, but the side rooms had a mosquito problem, so it was a choice between dying of heat or being eaten by mosquito's! After just more than 24 hours, the aircons were kind of fixed, although many of the fellow travellers were still complaining that they weren't running properly. We just kind of gave up at that point....

And then there was the breakfast! The worst by far of the 5 hotels we stayed in in Hungary. Really terrible coffee, horrible vienna-type sausages which always ran out early and one had to just about throw a tantrum to get one out of the staff, cold scrambled eggs etc etc. (They have the eggs in bains marie, but no hot water in the bottom, I don't understand why you would have that, but not use it correctly!) I can go on....

So, a nice looking hotel, with modern, clean rooms and bathrooms, good beds, a lovely view over the city, friendly staff - but overall our visit left a bit of a bad taste in the mouth because it was such a hassle to get things fixed.

We had a good time in Pecs, but I do think this hotel needs some tender loving care and attention to detail to help it reach it's full potential.

Room Tip: Facing towards Pec's walls, guarantees a good view!

**** star (?!) hotel with good location, nice staff, near to the old town, the wellness section is clean, but very basic. The restaurant is just atrociously bad. They have only one kind basic meal, (tomato soup, rise with chicken meat) no possibility to choose. Overpriced.

Good hotel, clean and with good service. Quality/price ratio very good. Location ok although out of the city and you'll need 10 minutes walking to go to the city center. Coming back is longer since way is upwards....

This was our second stay at this hotel.
Lovely, clean and comfortable rooms. Great location, very short walking distance to the centre of the “old town”.
The staff were absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Reasonably priced. Well worth the money.

The location is really good right outside the old city walls with a nice 5 minute stroll to the old city centre square. It has ample free parking and situated just off the main road...but noise is not an issue. From what we saw it has a lovely modern new wing where we stayed in a superior room. This was bright, contemporary styled and very clean, as was the bathroom.

We arrived very late and got a warm friendly welcome from the girl on night duty. She even made us a sandwich to nibble on with our wine! Breakfast the 1st morning was very good...not excellent. The service area needs to be looked at as it is far, far too crowded. Getting food was a bit of a scrum.

However the 2nd morning was a mess. There was hardly anything left for us to eat and enquiries were met with a blank stare and "there's none left". Wow....and this is a hotel and with 40 minutes of service remaining?? Sloppy, inexcusable and inefficent. If your guests have paid for breakfast....then serve it. NO excuse.

The spa, small but with a small plunge pool and sauna, is a welcome treat and was kept clean. The cost of the spa is extra if you book a srandard room....it is included with the superior room. I found this much too pricey hotel for what was offered. On our travels of 2,000 kms around Hungary we had better hotels for far less money. We came back to Pecs and stayed for the same price in The Corso Hotel which was far better.

I would have given a poor 2 rating but the room, reception, spa and location saved it.

Room Tip: Superior room in the new wing.

This hotel really has the potential to be a great hotel. It's located with a view over the city wall, has large rooms with large windows that open, big bath, large flat screen TV, and they serve the best croissants I've had outside France. Unfortunately, they make their money from the tour groups that arrive and leave the next day, and are pretty much indifferent to their other guests. As a result, for example, when I made the mistake of eating breakfast after a group, I had bread, stale cheese and some unidentifiable meat, which was all that was left. The dinner I had there was fine, but the server simply showed up, waited for me to ask for a menu, brought my food, and then left until I asked for the check. In fact, the whole town is pretty much given to the same attitude, but that's another story...

Room Tip: Rooms higher up have a better view over the city wall
