Hotel Soleil Szeged
Ranked #8 of 20 Hotels in Szeged
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We have just arrived back from our journey of Szeged.
We spent 2 nights in this hotel.

First of all: The staff is very, very, very helpful and friendly. I have been in some hotels overall in Europe, but this was the first place where the staff was really helpful and friendly. For example: before our arrive I asked that should we take a baby-bed or they can give us...the reception's girl said, no problem we have already put it in the romm. Would You like baby-tud? :)

The hotel located in the center of the city -> just one problem: with car it is not so easy to reach it and the hotel has not own parking place in his building. But You can solve this problem.
All of the sightseeing are in some minutes.

The room was clean and well equipped. Only one thing: with the child it is not so easy, because in our room the bed was in gallery and for the baby-bed there was no enough place, so my daughter slept in "downstairs". But never mind :) And there is no place for the children, I mean: baby-room where the children can play...

We had half-pension. The food was very, very delicious. Fresh and very tasty. The Bistorant restaurant (which is in this hotel) is one of the best restaurant in this city. The staff is professional, helpful and friendly.

Just one thing what I missed in this 4 * hotel: pool, sauna and fitness center, but if you look this hundred years old building you forget this expectation :)

Girl at the reception is very professional and speaks very good English, all my compliments for her. The hotel is located in the very city center, rooms are modern and very nice. Although it is true that tram passes right in front of hotel, I had a good sleep there.
The only serious downside is breakfast. I was so disappointed, it is so poor that it totally can't be compared with breakfasts I had in other 4 star hotels. The choice is very limited. Fruits are not offered at all and I am not even sure if water was included.

A successful fusion of supermodern and old, many fantastically designed details and surprises such as wondefully profumed towels.. A kitchen also, all comes with a fair price.

The only serious downside is a 10 am checkout

We have visited Szeged last weekend. Based on the suggestions on Tripadvisor and on our demands I chose Hotel Soleil in the very center of Szeged. I must say we were not disappointed. The hotel is very clean, the staff if extremely friendly and the food is great! We took part on a wine dinner on the first evening we were there. Both the wines (from wester Romania - formerly part of Hungary) and the food served with the wines were delicious.
Only two things might be negative to some people: the beds in the rooms are on a gallery - due to the hight of the rooms. The second is that the tram runs in front of the hotel - with closed windows it is not disturbing. I think for the price it is an excellent choice, I can recommend it for couples and for business travelers.

Szeged is indeed a wonderful place, and the Hotel Soleil Szeged is just as great. Very nice people. They offer excellent service, and also a very clever speaking English staff (which is rather important). Wifi works properly, the breakfast is really nice, and the rooms are large an comfortable. Location is central in the a very charming town. I recommend.

What a lovely hotel in the middle of Szeged, with restaurants and bars and the river close by. We were there to attend a dragon boat event and practically took over the hotel. We arrived late the first night and the receptionist was efficient and unflustered by us all piling into his reception area late at night. There was enough variety for breakfast to keep the athlete's going and us supporters. If you didn't want the breakfast downstairs, then you could pay for ham and eggs and eat upstairs in the beautiful courtyard. The rooms were fine, though the stairs rather steep. One evening we arranged for us all to have dinner in the hotel and 29 of us sat down to a BBQ which they put on every Friday and Saturday. We all enjoyed our food. The previous evening some of us ate off the main menu and it was equally delicious. The staff were attentive, polite and always smiling. The boss was always on hand and any problems instantly sorted. Thank you for having us and my husband and I look forward to returning in the near future. I have some photo's to send if you would kindly pass on your email to me. Many thanks. My Lady.

Our dragon boat team were competing at the Worlds in Szeged - a town we had not even heard of before. The hotel was an excellent base for us centrally located and the service from the hotel staff was second to none.

Every surface was squeeky clean, lovely publice spaces especially the courtyard and the rooms were spacious with a joining kitchen, lounge area which suited our team perfectly. Sleep was easy with black out curtains and good air conditioning. My only feedback would be that the kitchen was not stocked with basics like plates, silverware etc.

The weather was in the mid 30's when we were there and the day we left it hit 40C - the staff gave us bottles of chilled water foc to take with us in the taxi to the airport - a lovely thought.
