My wife, son and I were in Szentendre on 28/7/2017, spotted the La Mia at around 7pm and decided to eat there because it looked pleasant enough. It really does look OK, inside and out. It was the actual meal that was the problem. We ordered 2 spaghetti carbonaras and one penne al arriabiata. Simple dishes one might think, but in spite of that, the fact that we were almost the only guests and much coming and going on the part of the staff, the food took around 40 minutes to arrive. When it did, the food was lukewarm and the pasta had been so overcooked it was a textureless pulp and literally inedible. After a couple of bites, all three of us gave up. We could have sent the food back, but we couldn't see the point - we'd waited for ages in the first place and whoever was in the kitchen couldn't cook anyway. When we commented to the waitress on how appalling the food had been after such a ridiculously long wait she just stood there gormlessly and said, "Sorry about that...". No suggestion of how to make it right. Anyway, rather than the embarrassment of kicking up more of a fuss there and then we opted to leave them to themselves. I'm just glad I can write this review to warn others. Who goes to the bother of opening an "Italian" restaurant when the people in the kitchen can't even read the pasta packet to see how long it should be cooked for and can't even serve the food hot? Aren't we past that stage by now? At La Mia, apparently not. A very, very poor show. My sincere advice: don't go there!!
