“Fabulous place to try Slovakian wines”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

Cosy bar in the old town run by a wine enthusiast who went out of his way to ensure we tried the best wines he had. For each wine he opened a fresh bottle and was able to talk knowledgably about each one and pitched it just right. We ended up staying into the wee sma' hours chatting to other wine enthusiasts from around the world in a very convivial atmosphere. The host, as much as the wines, was a real star. Definitely recommend a visit here if you're at all interested in wine.

“Worth a visit to learn about local wines”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

Evening only and tucked away on the bend of Zamocnicka but what a treat to follow Martin's recommendations and try various Slovak and Czech wines - as well as other countries if you must! Very reasonable prices and the best wines we had in our week in Bratislava.

We were in the street level part but there were lots of young people in the cellar downstairs all drinking wine which was a bit noisier! So glad we found this.

we had set out to find Grand cru after reading reviews on Tripadvisor, missed it as hadnt realised it didnt open until 4/5pm so was delighted to find it open after a meal out. We tried several wines which were excellent, atmosphere really welcoming also very tastefully designed. Our host was very attentive and informative on all aspects of Bratislava.

“Suberb bar with vast Slovak wines, also in BIO quality.”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

I have been coming to this bar for almost two years and I directly fell in love. The bar is owned by one person, who is friendly, helpful. As I wrote in my title, they serve many regionally produced wines also organic ones. ... they have French and Czech ones too. There is also an old cellar. It serves mostly as a wine tasting place. It fits for team-buildings parties. The quality/price ratio is good, compared to other bars.

“More white wine selection than red”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

We were red drinkers so the choice of wine available compared to White was down to 1 page. Even then we did 2 light and a full bodied and they had no other full bodied Slovakian wines for us to try outside this one bottle. So we were really limited.

Also, normally in wine tasting, you get told about the berries, the year, the tannin, etc.. He told us nothing apart drom full and light bodied, so we had to work the rest out for ourselves.

It's a nice place, reasonably priced, just not as much selection as we would have liked for a wine tasting and not as much info about the wine as we would have liked.
