Newly fitted out in an odd building. Not too far from town centre; very convenient for where I wanted - opposite.

Room are comfortable ... one major exception - the bed is in a box with razor sharp corners where the panels join so watch your shins. Everything is new but on my floor lighting and power sockets were disappointing; few sockets under desks through irritating holes for sockets and you couldn't turn off main lights from your bed which is surprising in a new fit. Bath was a little short and had a freehand shower head but not a shower. Wifi worked well as was not obtrusive ... No landing page every few hours as in some paces.

Restaurant & bar closes at 22:00 which is not a problem to me in generalbut the checkin staff aparently have no access to the bar etc. I wanted some cold mineral water after 8 hours travelling so I asked for a large bottle but I had to make do with the 330ml in the mini bar (4 soft drinks and a white wine) as I arrived 10 minutes too late for the bar

Breakfast was not great. The hot element was supposedly in heated trays but was cold every day when I arrived early or late. Everything was from the cheaper end ... But breakfast was included in a reasonable room rate.

Electrics and air con was on a central card slot at the door which is tricky if you arrive after dark... You can defeat this with any card ... a good idea in the summer if you are out in evening and don't want to come back to a sauna.

Reception friendly and helpful ... Breakfast staff indifferent.

I was in Bratislava several times for business and I always used Danubia Gate. It's a great hotel. This time I came as a tourist, so I thoroughly compared prices. Saffron was 25 EUR cheaper per night than Danubia Gate for the 4* standard, so I decided to give it a try.
First of all, if it had 3*, I would have rated it higher, but noblesse oblige! It is 15 minutes walk from the Old Town and you can use a tram if you are tired. Parking is at a bargain price 8 EUR per day. The hotel is situated at a busy street, but in fact it is separated from traffic by another building. Looks funny, because the entrance is in an inner courtyard of an industrial building, but this means all rooms are quiet. If you look for it from Radlinskeho street, you need to enter an uninviting gate next to Subway.
The rooms are clean, new and sized adequately. Now, about the minuses: for this class hotel I would expect an electric kettle and tea in the room. The receptionist was nice, but there was always queue to her desk. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, but again I would expect a freshly brewed coffee rather than something tasteless in thermojugs. Staff at breakfast completely not interested in guests. Do not try to get to restaurant with stairs - the door is closed! No sport facilities.
All in all, it is a decent hotel for a convenient price, but next time in Bratislava I will stay in Danubia Gate again.

Very great surprise for the price I paid.
Room was spotless and bathroom as well.
Most comfortable pillow I've ever had in a hotel.
Breakfast was included and was good. Hot and cold choices.
15 minutes walk to old center.

Staff could be more courteous though.
