Towering above the city on the bank of the Danube, the castle is impressive from a distance. On the day we visited there was lots going on. There was a show of folk groups with much music and dancing. Very nice! There was a demonstration of armor and medieval implements and the kids were allowed to handle them.
A trained eagle (named Nixon) sat on our arm under the watchful eye of his handler.
All this occurred in the courtyards of the castle and there was no charge. There is a charge to visit the interior rooms, however we didn't have time for that..
It was a thoroughly enjoyable visit.
