“As good as the reviews say”
Reviewed 20 December 2013

Havig booked Marrols as a result of using the reviews I too would say it is a fantastic hotel. Not only is it exactly as described - the public rooms and the bedrooms are as good as they look in the pictures - but it is also spotlessly clean, very well decorated and extremely comfortable. The room facilities are luxurious and there is a small free mini bar which is restocked each day. It is easily one of the best hotels I have stayed in - and I stay in a lot of hotels! The difference with this hotel is that the staff really care and make your stay as pleasant as possible - nothing is to much trouble for them.

We had a short wait to check in - and were shown to comfortable chairs by a warm fire and given sparkling wine to sip while we waited. The check in staff then gave us a free lap top to use and made us feel that we were really important to them. Throughout our stay the unfailing courtesy and helpfulness of the staff was a feature.

We booked the spa which was fantastic and worth every penny! We also ate in the restaurant one evening and felt utterly and completely pampered.

i would definitely stay at this hotel again and I have already recommended it to friends.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are identical in size so the only difference is inner courtyard or overlooking the ro...

What an amazing hotel, beautiful, one of the best I have stayed at. Fantastic value and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Excellent location close to the Old Town. Bedroom was beautifully decorated and really comfortable. Complimentary mini bar was a lovely touch too. Breakfast was lovely, very good choice of cereals, cheeses, fruit etc. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Fantastic weekend.

This hotel was in a good location near to the old town. We were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine as we checked in. Our bags were carried to our room and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was beautifully decorated, bed was comfortable and the en-suite contained a bath and everything that we needed. We particularly enjoyed the free mini bar in the room.
Breakfast was good, a selection of hot and cold options, but it wasn't the best we have had at a five star hotel.
All of the hotel was spotlessly clean, and it was evident that the staff worked hard to maintain the standards and ambiance of the hotel
Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely return.

We stood one night, check in without problems, parking directly in the hotel garage, the cost is quite expensive for this region. Room - no very big like other 5* hotels in Europe, but nice furniture and bathroom with quality cosmetics. Breakfast - an avarege, but you can find all you need. Can imagine a cook preparing omelets or pancakes in front of the guests. Check out - ok. Can really suggest to all business travellers or romantic couples.

Excellent hotel, handy for the old town, great service, nice ambience. The one thing that lets it down is the breakfast. Serving up in those canteen style hot plates is not the best way to make a cooked breakfast fresh but thats what they do here. On top of that, everyone knows and expects five star hotels to provide eggs to order at breakfast. Here there was scrambled and "fried" in the hot plate but when I asked for an omelette I was told this would cost extra…….not very classy!
The overall experience was good however especially the spa experience. It costs 70 euro and you get exclusive and private use of the spa for two hours. The spa is lovely with a large Jacuzzi tub, sauna, solarium, couches, vibrating plate, free mini bar and a scrumptious plate of fresh fruit. Well worth the money, a luxurious experience.
Ate there one night. The starter and pud were a tad disappointing but the mains were really good.. For four people the bill was 400 euro which included one bottle of wine.
Walked to the station (about 30 minutes) and went to Vienna for the day, 12 euro return although the hotel will take you in the limo for fifty euro which might have been a better option if theres two couples. I pre arranged the limo to pick me up from the airport and the guy was waiting as we came through the arrivals gate….20 euro which again felt like good value combined with a bit of luxury and the comfort you aren't going to get ripped off by local taxis.
