“Holy Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2013

I made a stop in Bratislava on the way to Vienna. Easy to access by bus from the train station. When I arrived I was met by a friendly caretaker, It is open 9-5 except Saturday. There are many other ancient graves there such as Rabbi Akiva Eiger. It's definitely a special place to pray.

“Interesting”

An interesting place to visit and pray. Right off the river and a bit hard to find, the graves are below ground in a fenced off property. Not much to see there but an interesting part of Slovakian history.

“the Hatam Sofer graveyard”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2012

the Hatam Sofer was a famous rebby. He was buried in Bratislava in the old jewish cemetery.
The city paved a main road over it, but respected the Hatam Sofer`s grave. So now the grave is below the road and a special entrance take you there. The atmosphere there is really mystic and combines the old (the yiny graveyard) and modernty (the highway). It is a specail place to pray!
