“Juat a Pass”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We stopped here for a snack in the old town of a coffee and panettone [a type of sweet bread loaf] which we found to be very dry. Nevertheless, it was a must with the strong coffee. The service was good without being outstanding.

“Had better Schoko!”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

Its main advantage is its location right on the main square with views of the world going by either from the street tables or indoors up or downstairs. The service was good but the chocolate drinks were really disappointing, even when we gave them a second chance another day. There are definitely better places close by.

“All time classic!”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

Maximilian is one of the oldest cafe houses in Bratislava, ask any tour guide and they'll probably have few stories to tell you. I have been coming here for their hot chocolate since the times I was a student (12+ years ago..). I do not live in Slovakia anymore, but this place remains on the list of to-do-things every time we visit Bratislava in the winter and we need to warm up after strolling the Christmas markets outside. I tried probably all the chocolate flavors they have, I like most the classic milk chocolate and my husband likes their spicy chocolate. The place is always packed, mainly by locals, so if you are looking for something typical to do, then don't forget Maximilian.

“Average hot chocolate”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

We went there as we saw a very positive comment on one blog. The interior was very nice and the location was great facing to a square in the old town. We had pure had chocolate and hot chocolate with nuts. Both were average, nothing special. The price was 2.5 euro per each.
