“Will Definitely Go Back”
Reviewed 13 October 2012

I booked this hotel at a bargain rate of 31 Euros/night on Booking.com. This did not include the 8/day Euro buffet breakfast, which is well worth it (nice array of hot and cold choices). The room was spotlessly clean and quite large. Not sure if my room location was based on my request for a quiet room, but I loved it. I was in Room 203, and there were no guest rooms on either side of me, just the housekeepers' pantry on one side, and the housekeepers' washing machine on the other side. It was completely peaceful and quiet all the time.

The front desk staff, as well as the housekeepers were fantastic--friendly, informative, and very responsive. The hotel has free wifi and the signal was excellent. Since my main reason for being in Bratislava was to attend a sporting event at the Ondrej Nepela Arena, the location of the hotel, just around the corner from the arena, could not be better. As has been pointed out, the hotel is a bit away from the city center, but quickly and easily accessible via public transportation.

The only negative I can report is the quality of the food in the hotel restaurant. Aside from breakfast, I don't recommend it. The menu on the website shows extensive choices, but this is not the case. In the evenings, there was a choice of one or two entrees, both of which were generally uninspired (so was the service). That said, there are a couple of nice supermarkets within walking distance, so you can stock up on supplies for your room.

I loved my stay at Hotel Set and if I attend the same sporting event next year, it will be my hotel of choice.

I stayed in Set only one night, but i was truly amazed with the price/quality in this place. I booked through booking.com and i got a 32€/night for a double bed room. The hotel street is very very quite, so you can expect a very good night of sleep. The breakfast is included and is very very good.
At the beginning can be a little tricky to get there, i advice a map if you are using the tram.

An excellent location for a family stay, the junior suite with the large balcony was great! The reception staff was really helpful so go there without hesitation. I didn't have the opportunity to check the restaurant; because you have fridge your kitchen... for a late beer on your balcony you can walk 10 min to Billa supermarket and buy anything you want.

Room Tip: Junior Suite (first floor) is really big, you have also a fully kitchen!

Hotel Set is a small, but quit hotel located in the new town right next to the hockey stadium and near the football ground of Inter and Slovan Bratislava. Easy accessable too for the Centre, number 4 and 2 tram take you into the centre and the Novy Most, where you can catch a bus to Devin Castle. Reception staff friendly and informative.

This hotel is about 5km from the airport with secure on site parking. We had a three person room which was in effect a mini suite with a separate sleeping area for the third person. The standard of accommodation was very good. There are tow things that let the hotel down; The first is that the hotel is an 8 euro taxi rode from the city centre. The hotel appointed driver sought to charge us 10 euros. The second disappointment is the absence of tea and coffee facilities in the room or a decent bar at night.

Hotel Set was a re-booking from another overbooked hotel. In spite of this, the staff was extremely helpful in getting our bearings. The breakfasts were included in the booking price, and included cereals, fruit, breakfast cakes, coffee and other tasty, nutritious treats along with linen tablecloths and napkins! The hotel is located in the sports district of Bratislava, with the national Tennis Centre adjacent to the facility. In addition, the Slovak National Hockey Team's headquarters was a block away (2d place world championships 2012 !). There are running areas around the hotel, and my triathlete daughter enjoyed training during our 3 night stay. The small balcony provided very nice views. The national Slovak travel agency headquarters is 2 blocks away, and connections to the streetcar to downtown (& elsewhere) are convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay !

Hotel SET was very nice, parking was not a problem, staff was helpful, the receptionist even remembered my name after my second day there. Bathroom was very nice.

The only thing I was not that happy with was breakfast, they charged 8 or 9 EUR, and did not even have eggs. I canceled breakfasts after one time try.

Everything else was very nice.
