“Don't go there, even without you it´s full already”
Reviewed 16 June 2014 via mobile

I have to say, I should be grateful that anyone in Slovakia came up with idea of having bigger aquapark then one pool, two slides, and hot water in the showers. But you have to know how to do it.

Don't bother trying to get nice parking place, go as far as possible, where you will end up anyway, it will save some time.

We were waiting from 10am till 10:45 to get to the cash desk (6 out of 20 were open on a nice sunny day). If you have your Gopass card and you wanna save (up to 3€! p.p., the place isn't the cheapest, you should be thankful), you better be sure you have also your passport with you, otherwise it may happen that you'll be sent back to your (pretty far parked) car, (which won't make Polish family standing in the line behind you very happy).

After you get you and your family in, run for your life, lockers are limited (because of capacity and because of damage).

You better bring a pair of flip-flops, the ground in closed area is burning in summer!

Outside are nice deck-chairs... :D You thought you would take one? Did you? Ha! :D Occupied. All of them! (My aunt had a problem and couldn't enter the water on that day, So at least I wanted to bring her one... I had to wait for an elderly couple to leave their place and steal one! I did feel bad but, I've left them the other one).

Slides are amazing you can see that that's gonna be potentially fun. Yes, only potential. How come? Most of them need floating device (which I prefer) to be used, each one has no more then 4 of them! So you wait in the line to get one, you slide down and you pass it again. Sounds quite Ok, but we wouldn't be Slovaks if we wouldn't want to f*** the system. Mommy stays in the line for Boomerang, daddy for Trio while two kids are in the pool across the whole area. Mommy takes the floatie and starts to look for the kids, meanwhile daddy gets the next floatie. From 4 there is only 3 now for next 10-15 minutes in circulation and it happens that noone is actually using the slide and 30 people are waiting in the line.

Starting to get hungry? Too late! You should have known it's gonna come. The line is moving slow.

The atmosphere of the place itself is nice but still, the beautiful view of High Tatras I didn't realize at all. No slides are built with the view towards them.

Dear Tatralandia, you claim to have 14 pools. I have peed in 1, guess which one. Your unsatisfied customer.

“However considerable disillusionment”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Recent visit of Aquapark Tatralandia was our second. If the first visit a couple years ago (at that time the inner part of Tatralandia was much smaller) was relatively well, this recent one was quite striking disillusionment. First of all we have been negatively surprised by price / customer policy of aquapark. We visited park as two adults and three children (age of five, eleven and eleven). But surprisingly the price limit for children is not set by age, but by height (140 cm). Therefore one girl (height of 136 cm, age of 11) paid 8 EUR per 3 hours (or there was possible to buy family ticket), other one (height of 146 cm, same age of 11) had to pay 17 EUR per 3 hours (and there was no possibility to include her to family ticket), which is just 2 EUR less than cost of ticket for adult. I have tried to find out at the entrance to Tatralandia why the administration of park put into the force such strange and discriminatory rule. The discussion with cashier was tragicomic. Last sentence I remembered was that it is because of security due to different types of water slides that are also limited by height of customers (especially children). What a surprise that height limit for all 5 open inner water slides was (is) 120 cm.... Personally for us this was not question of money, but certainly the mater of principle. Especially after I checked the price list of Gino Park Bešeňová that is large aguapark located nearby the Tatralandia and there was no categorization of customers (children) on the basis of height but simply according to age as it is usuall in most similar facilities in the world. Plus children up to six years accompanied by parents are not charged. One last remark to price policy of aquapark. Entrance fee for disabled person per 3 hours is 17 EUR as well (adult fee per 3 hours is 19 EUR).
As we visited the park still in „spring season“ (25 of May, air temperature over 20 centigrade) the most of the park had looked like a (re)construction site. There was just five inner water slides in operation. The situation with pools have been better as 9 of 14 poolls were in service. But even after noon the park was already crowded and for instance you had to wait a minutes for ride on water slide(s) .
The new part of Tatralandia called Tropical paradise is savoury, though the architectural design in „pirate“ style is not new. For instance, very similar was used earlier in Bad Schallerbach in Austria.
But one of the biggest deficiencies of the Tatralandia is missing customer oriented attitude of staff. Most of the staff of aqupark we have seen during our stay had a scowl, there was almost no empathy and very very low customer oriented converational skills. I understand pretty much that in certain occassions the work with „disobedient“ and / or „inadaptable“ customers is not easy, but it should not have impact on the majority of decorous visitors.
All those partial issues have created for us at the end the very negative impression from entire aquapark.
