I stayed at the Holiday Inn Zilina for a business trip in May 2013. The hotel has all the amenities you could want and was very spacious and very clean. Plus the food was great. I really cannot fault a thing about this hotel at all!

We spent a weekend in the hotel, which is placed next to the football stadium and a winter sports-hall. All this facilities are placed but at the outside part of the city behind the main railway station. We got the room in 7th floor with a nice look-out over the city, however crossing with the view first the dozen of railways with all the surroundings, which railways use to have. Actually we studied in Zilina 25 years ago therefore we new the city good. Despite the fact of the mentioned position of the hotel, there is not to far in to the “down-town” by foot, which is approx 500m far away. A part of a hotel is a large secured parking, which we got inclusive the price as well as wellness. The hotel is a new modern facility, clean and with all respect to the 4 stars, it is rated. There is very clean everywhere, the rooms are large enough with central air-condition (room regulated) and pretty furnished. In 11th floor there is a wellness with saunas and a pool and restaurant with nice look-out over city. Two lifts were pretty quick and large, which use to be often a weak point in many hotels.
The breakfast choice was nice wide variety and also tasty and fresh. Only troubles made each morning the coffee machine (or rather it seems the personal was not accustomed with). What a pity, the personal showed the marks of sad Slovak personality, all were with stern faces, you cannot expect any smile (even the waiters were laughing some minute before together behind the bar...). Only smiley guy on the reception seemed to be from Ukraine.
We enjoyed the stay and I only can rate the hotel very positive.

Room Tip: 7th floor and higher, citywards, you will nice city - view

Wonderful hotel, lovely atmosphere and evident that staff are happy, which flowed onto the guests. The bed was very comfortable so much so that it was difficult to leave it. Another benefit: very good blackout curtains in the room that block the light without letting in a single line of it. A wonderful hotel with outstanding service, great breakfast, lovely spa, spacious room

I have nothing else to say other than great. My one night stay was perfect. Would recommend for anyone staying for a night, hosting an event or coming for holiday. Beautiful rooms and common areas, varied choice of meals and breakfast and a gym with a spectacular view of žilina.

Nice 4 star hotel, from the very first moment we were impressed by highly professional receptionist. All staff was helpful and hospitable.
Nice and clean rooms, comfortable beds with your own choice of pillows, heated floor, very quiet room - sound proof windows. Hotel restaurant offers interesting menu of an International, Italian, and Korean meals - could be cooked better, but a desert did the job at least :-)
All over we were satisfied and we would stay there again!

This is a nice modern hotel with pretty much anything one can need. The breakfast was great, and I also enjoyed the wellness area with a pool, jacuzzi, a dry and a steam sauna. This was by the way on the 10th floor and looked very classy during the dark. There was also a terrarium with a green iguana there :) Overall I enjoyed the hotel.

One negative is that the twin room only has small (90cm / 35in) single beds, not queen beds.

The Holiday Inn gave me the impression of a new, modern, no-nonsense business hotel. The rooms were rather large and very clean. They provided complimentary wifi internet acces in the lobby. The modernistic design of the lobby and lounge areas didn't really appeal to me. But obviously this is a matter of taste, I just wanted to mention it. I'm not sure if this hotel would be my choice for an extented stay. But we just travelled through the area and for that the Holiday Inn fit the bill perfectly. I agree with everybody who found the staff friendly and helpful.
