Peaceful and nice scenery, architecture to appreciate.. Lived with this for very long and climbed each tower since I was teen.. If you got that far to visit Kaunas, this place must be on the 'see list'

The monastery is located out of town but easy to reach by public transportation in the summer. There is a nice small museum located at the monastery and the setting is lovely.

It is old monastery and church one of the most magnificent example of Italian Baroque architecture in the country and North and East Europe. It is surrounded by the lake.
Today the monastery is home to the annual international Pažaislis Music Festival. It was started in 1996 and now lasts for three summer months and offers about 30 different concerts. It features classical music of diverse genres and styles, ranging from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to ABBA classics.

I have been in several concert and every time enjoyed it so much. In the evening it is nice just to walk around and enjoy quiet and peace. You can not get inside in the evening as it is open just during the day :)

It is a pleasant half day trip from the Kaunas city center with adequate public transportation. It has some nice frescoes inside and baroque carvings outside. Also the lagoon is close-by which makes the place interesting. Since, it is a working monastery, so it is not open all days and all time. So check their website before coming. The working staff is very helpful and informative. Come only during summer, else the place will lose most of its charm.
