As we stayed at the hotel of the same chain in Kaunas we didn't hesitate much to choose Amberton Klaipeda. As we usually spend a lot of time outside and planned to visit Klaipeda in July we decided to choose accommodation in the old building as it was cheaper. I should say the room was large and a size of a bathtube in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise. I cannot say anything about my neighbours as we were given a room on the floor where a lot of premises are rented as offices. But if you prefer a flat screen TV it's better to live in the new building. So in the evening and certainly during the night we didn't hear anyone. The location is perfect whether you plan to use a ferry to Curonian Spit or to visit the old city. If you arrive to Klaipeda by public transport it'll take you about 15-20 minutes to walk from the train or bus stations. As you go along the "new" streets it doesn't create a problem even if your suitcase is quite heavy. As for the breakfast the variety is nice. It doesn't matter if you have arrived from the West or East I'm sure you'll be satisfied. As we got up quite late we were always the last to come eating and the staff added new portions without asking. The only disadvantage could be during the colder period of the year you have to take a small walk outside or to climb the staircase if you live in the old building. I mean it was o'k for July but personally I wouldn't like to wear a warm coat just to have breakfast. As for the rest I advise you to visit the restaurant on the twelvth floor in the day time to see the beautiful panoramic view of the city. As for the one on the twelvth floor the evening view of the harbor was perfect as well.

Good location , nice view, bad service and bad cleanliness . We spend 3 days. If you are planing to be hear , ask for new part of hotel. The best view is from 16 stage with sea view. Air conditions are very noisy.

The hotel Amberto Klaipeda exceeded our expectations when we got to it. The hotel has two buildings and we were accommodated in the new "K" building. The rooms were large enough, free wifi, TV and a good sized bathroom. The bathtub was lowered into the floor, so it was tricky to get in without sitting down, but it was well enough.
The room was clean and nice, breakfast had all we wanted. It is a very good hotel for people who want to do stuff during the day and return to the hotel to wash, sleep and have a rest while waiting on other person- the hotel is not well suited for living.

Room Tip: Chose either new building (building K) or the superior rooms in the old building.

Stayed here for a change on my wifes birthday. Wanted to try something different, but wont bother again. Even the new part, the tall tower, we changed rooms twice and even then were not happy. Allegedly non smoking rooms stank of stale smoke, and were run down. Carpets in all 3 rooms we tried looked like chemicals had been spilt on them. Whilst the receptionist attitude to changing rooms was OK, get the feeling that this still suffers from old soviet style mentality. Expensive for what it is.

Room Tip: Maybe the older rooms with balconies are better?? Just view will not be so good

I stayed one night in this hotel, travelling with a group. The hotel is large and consists of two towers, the new one with 22 floors. The sight is impressive from outside, like a huge block cut in two by a fissure!

The first challenge are the lifts. A casual visitor to any hotel expects the lifts function as everywhere else - but this is not the case here. You have to press the required floor before entering the lift, and must look carefully which lift (A, B or C) will transport you to your destination. Beware if you enter another lift which happens to come by when you a waiting for your "designated lift"! You will be whisked to some other floor, with no possibilty to influence the travel once you are inside. There are no buttons inside the lift!

I have travelled a lot around the world but never encountered anything similar. One would expect a hotel to install lifts which function intuitively. Not here!

When I entered the room, the first surprise were steps inside the room, Again, the expectation is to have an even floor to roll your luggage on. The rooms in the new tower have a few steps from the door to a raised middle, then again some steps down to the bed and window. Not a good thing when you stagger to the bathroom during a dark night ...

Other examples of "style before function" were a mere 25 cm rack for hangers, no coat-rack at all, a cramped writing area and last but not least 1.5 m distance from the toilet seat to the paper-roll!

The bed was fine, breakfast good and the buffet-dinner OK.

Room Tip: If you have to stay in this hotel, require a room in the old tower. My friends told me that the floo...

The view on the sea side is nice, especially when living above 10th floor.

A lot of bars, pubs.. and 2 strip clubs. Of course discounts for hotel guests.

Weak, fatty breakfast. Queue to enter, queue to coffee. It is impossible to eat in comfort environment when around 20 persons are waiting at the door for the table that you seat at.

Materce comfortable, but I was bitten few times at night by some spider.. or mosquitos.

Hard to find a room when it is located in different building than reception.

Long period of accomodation and check out.

Room arranged in interesting way, stairs, glass balcony, panoramic windows.

Room Tip: on the sea direction

Great placement, they have 3 restaurants/bars with a fantastic view :-) one is open air bar on top floor new building.
Service is excellent, Casino is good, stripclub is good but very expensive + free entrance for hotel guests, They have a nightclub. Spa and so on.
Cleanliness perfect.
PS! taxidriver of taxi number 24 gave great service at reasonable prices.
So in reality You get a lot for Your money at Amberton Hotel and if I go back to klaipeda/Palanga I will stay there again.
And I took a minitaxi from airport to Amberton for 20litas ca 5,5€
I got first a room with no working wifi + complained and got room change fast so in reality that was a +.
My new room was big and nice with a bedroom and a living room.
But no aircondition makes it hot in the summer, no safety box, and curtains that was too short and too thin to close out the very early sun. And not many English channels on the TV.
I was staying in the old part of the hotel so I don't know the quality of the rooms in the new building.
It could have been better sound isolation against inside noise.

Room Tip: The new building should be more modern I hope.
