“Never Again”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2013 via mobile

If this hotel were only 2 stars, the review would have been slightly more positive. The hotel is technically in Old Town but outside of the City Walls, which basically makes it outside of the Old Time attractions. Stayed three nights. Two days returned at 17:45 after a day of sightseeing only to find the rooms not cleaned. When asked, got a ridiculous explanation in a very unfriendly tone. A young lady at the front desk tried to get things moving but was quite helpless. The hotel staff in general has some way to go to qualify to work in a hospitality industry.

If staying here, get a room facing the back, away from the street. I had a front facing room, with lots of traffic noise and late at night drunks and others shouting and arguing. I was woken multiple times by loud, outside voices. The room was spotless, the bath immaculate, but I only got 2 good nights sleep out of 4 because of noise. The only other negative was the bath towel. Using an 8x11 1/2 piece of paper, I determined the towels were 25" x 16". And thick and luxurious were never used to describe them. I had difficulty telling the difference between the towel and the bathmat. The location is a short walk from the city center, shopping, and the old town. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and included in the cost of the room -- very reasonable. I can heartily recommend as long as your room does not face the street.

Room Tip: Facing the back.

Good location. Old town is in walking distance. Decent price. Free parking and Wi-Fi. Room was clean. 3rd floor rooms are tiny, but for couple of days stay it was ok for me. No mini-bar or hairdryer. Small flat-TV on the wall. Railway and Bus stations in 3-5 min walk.

Room Tip: Prefer the rooms facing the courtyard because of the noise from the street.

Good price and good location. Rooms are nothing special but overall its a decent place to stay for the weekend. Everything is in walking distance and it makes it good start to explore the city. Dont expect too much from breakfast.

If you get toured around Vilnius, get a map because we were a lot closer to Old Town than one might have thought from our orientation, but just on the edge of the town. Take a cab tho if alone at night; while we had no problems, I can see where "sketchy" was used to describe this corner.

By no means is it posh, but comfortable, all the staff spoke some English and were helpful with Lithuanian and Polish.

A single lift, small, but goes to all floors. Stairs are wide enough for three.

We visited at an unseasonably wintry April, but the rooms were comfortable. The bathrooms are small by American standards, but clean, if a little shabby - but everything functioned. And I learned to really appreciate a good heating towel rack!

Our room was small with two single beds, not unlike rooms in a convent, but plenty of room to open and lay out the contents of 2 serious luggages. And, I want a duvet now -- not heavy at all but kept us warmly ensconced.

WiFi was spotty: great at dining area and ground floor, weaker in rooms

The food was hearty and plentiful, we had breakfasts and dinners. For a group of 26, seating could be a bit tight, but again, very comfortable (in the basement). See photos. And they accommodated some strange breakfast times: like 6 am! Just ask, I guess.

You can buy snacks and drinks from the front desk at all hours, but there's a local grocery chain (Maxima) a mere 100 meters away.

NB: Can't help but notice: the two "terrible" ratings, tho submitted years apart have the exact paragraph with the exact misspellings. Granted these were stays from years ago, but still, a bit suspect. Wonder if they're not trying to undermine what appears to be a good value establishment.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back were very quiet. Just check your window angle and who can see you. We didn...

Very near the old town, this is a comfortable and affordable hotel. Staff were lovely, rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. No fridge / hairdryer etc in the room, which wasn't a problem for us at all. Cheap enough to be a bargain, but not so cheap that stag-dos go there! Recommended
