“Good hotel”
Reviewed 8 November 2013

The hotel looks better than other 3 star hotels i stayed before. Not 4*, but very good 3*.

I had a single room in the attick. It was small but cozy. A little cold, maybe because of October. But with warm blanket it was pretty ok.

The breakfasts were wonderful. Good choice, tasty, cozy dining room. I miss them! :)

Room was comfortable and clean. Hotel was a bit removed from the more touristy areas, and I had trouble finding an open nearby restaurant on a Saturday night. But the Frank Zappa monument was a quick walk from the hotel, so that was a definite plus.

Only 3 stars but could easily have claimed four. 40euros for a single room. Nice breakfast with fresh smoked salmon. Check in a bit slow- manager hanging around watching from office, while receptionist coped with a long queue (about 1pm on 19 September if anyone cares enough to take that manager aside and tell her to do her job properly). Wifi worked well. Good 20 minute walk to old city but quite convenient for airport and train station.

Like other reviews have said the hotel is a bit out of the way in a very quiet area but once you've had a look at a map and worked out where you are everything to see is within a 20 to 30 minute walk.

Upon arrival went through the hotels communal areas which are very good. Bar/restaurant and lots of sofas dotted around where you can sit and chill out if you wish.

Room was huge, both the bedroom and the bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities and free WIFI throughout the hotel. The breakfast was of a much better standard than in most hotels, both in quality and range.

All in all couldn't find fault with the hotel and if being a short walk away from the town centre is the sacrifice you have to make to get a hotel like this then its worth the sacrifice.

I stayed here with my girlfriend in Late August 2013 for 1 night. The room was a good size and was comfy, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Location wise it was walkable to the centre of Vilnius Old Town in 20 Minutes, so perfect for us. We didn't find any problems with the neighbourhood, but perhaps it's a little quiet if you want nightlife. Still, it's not difficult to get a taxi from the Town if you don't want to walk back late.

Breakfast was complimentary and great! The only reason we'd reduce our review scores was because the bathroom had a bit of a niff to it... but we'd quite happily visit again.

I stayed in Grata hotel for 4 nights in the end of August 2013. It is about 20-30 minute walk to Old Town, depends on which part You want to begin Your Old Town walking. Nearest food shop Iki Express is about 5 minutes by foot and a little further away is Maxima XXX, which is much-much bigger. I rather not recommend to walk lonely in the evening, because the location of the hotel is in a little suspicious and too quiet area..
The hotel itself is in a building, that locates other businesses, like Tele2 etc and You have to search for the reception for a little for the first time when You do Your check-in. There are at least 20 steps to reach the hotel part as mentioned in earlier reviews. I was staying in the hotel with a conference group and fortunately our check-in was quite fast. My room was on the same level as the reception, but in the far corner of it. `Thus my room was too far from the reception and I did not have wifi in my room. The only place I could actually have the internet connection was on the couches on the same level, as the reception in the common area. And the bad side of it was also that while we were staying in the hotel, they were doing something do their wifi connection and it was very jumpy and quite poor. They did have apologizing sign on the reception table, that warned guests about the issue.
The room itself was quite OK for the size, but could use a little freshness soon. In the bathroom there was a bath, not a shower, that was a pleasant surprise. But unfortunately it was not very inviting, because there seemed to be mold in the corners. In the living area, there were little flies near the ventilation and window area and in the night times, a huge spider came to see on the ceiling, what I was doing too, many nights in a row.
The breakfast was enough for my taste, consisting of both cold and warm food. The reception staff`s English could be better, but was OK to handle the easy stuff.
I would choose another hotel for my next visit to Vilnius, that is much more closer to the Old Town!

Room Tip: Rooms near reception have wifi in the rooms, others may not have.

Check in was quick once you found reception, you need to go up a flight of stairs then go left , but there is a lift, rooms were oldish looking but clean. Room had mini fridge, 2 singles beds joined together. Desk luggage storage, table, chair, cupboard, tea coffee facilities. No air conditioner, but you could open the door/ window , no safe, wifi was free but did not work in bedroom & the only place it worked for us was on the sofas just outside the lifts on reception level.
Bathroom was ok, there could have been shelving to put your toiletries on. Supplied soap & shower gel/ shampoo dispenser.
Not much around area, and you are about 30 minute walk to the old town.
