We booked a deluxe business room at Hotel Grotthuss and were just thrilled with what we got. I have very seldom experienced a hotel with such a beautiful interior, not just in the common rooms, but also in the guest rooms and the corridors. All the furniture is from the well-known Italian brand of Selva. This is quality classical furniture, which last for ages.
The hotel staffs were efficient, professional and very welcoming. What I perhaps remember as the best moment was the last morning when we ate breakfast in the relaxing out door area. The breakfast was very good and in a quiet atmosphere. All 3 nights at Hotel Grotthuss was just like a dream. The location was also ideal, just a few steps from the main square, but not with hordes of tourists just outside the door.

Room Tip: Book a deluxe business room

We had 3 excellent nights in this lovely, small hotel, right in the old part of this charming city. The staff was very helpful and attentive, the restaurant top notch and our room was beautifully decorated with an old-world charm and had all the amenities we required, and then some! We don't care about not having a lift...you can always walk...! And the breakfasts were abundant with a cooked option of wonderful pancakes or eggs always available. Really a nice choice, one of our best in 3 plus months of world-wide travel.

You cannot go wrong in selecting this place to stay in Vilnius (If you dont mind a few stairs as there is no lift). The room was spacious and clean, the service was great and the breakfast selection was fine. The location was fantastic.

Room Tip: I had room 207 which was one of the few rooms with a balcony which I would recommend.

Very, very sympathetic staff. The top point was Kirsten Dunst's twin sister at the front desk (wasn't she?!?).
It lacks an elevator (two and a half stairways everytime I had to reach my room...). There are no many breakfast options, and the juice ended in one of the breakfasts I had.
Decoration has its charm and style, but is completelly inadequate if you have some allergy. Much dark wood and carpet, it's visually interesting, but maybe too heavy and "polluted" for my mood (and my allergy) at the time. Some people would love it.
Wi-fi was paid, so you have to ask (and pay) for a passcode at the reception.

The hotel is in an excellent location for the bus station and the old town. We arrived late in the night and after travelling all day we would have loved some coffee. We were told that we couldn't have any coffee because the bar was closed and only being used for a function on that night. It seems to me that the hotel should look after their visitors first, after all, we write the reviews on Trip Advisor!! I felt like I couldn't ask for anything after that and that everything would probably be too much trouble. The room was ok, the bathroom needs some refurb, there was a badly filled hole in the bathtub and the floor tiles needed some work. The bedroom wall nearest the bed needed a lick of paint. A standard room is tiny. The bed was comfy though. The staff were very pleasant. We stayed three nights and on the morning of our departure the coffee was dreadful. I felt that it was probably made using hardly any coffee because the hotel seemed empty. It was weak and was really just brown water. When we asked the waitress if we could have a new pot of coffee because it was awful, she said NO, but we could buy some at extra cost. She was referring to the extra charge if you want a cappuccino or latte. The previous 2 days morning coffee had been very nice. The breakfast on offer was just standard and wasn't really inspiring. The charge for WIFI was abou 5 euros for 24 hours and only works on one device. I probably wouldn't stay here again because of the limited facilities on offer.

Good, quiet hotel in the old town.
But room and toilet equipment is old and not renewed.
21st century, boutique hote and WiFi no free? Bath amentities - not free ?
Only because of it - I will say that the price must be lower.
All other things is ok.

Dear Mr. Evgeniy,

first of all thank you for staying in our hotel. And thank you for your review, it is very important to us to improve our service.

But I'm a bit confused with your comment about the bathroom equipment. In all our rooms we have highest class luxury "Villeroy and Boch", "Jado" equipment.
All amenities are free. Everything is in the bathroom, if you need something extra you can always ask in reception, our staff is ready to help you.

Internet is chargeable, because we do not hide the prices. If in other hotels it is free, that doesn’t mean it is not calculated in your room rate event if you do not use it.

Thank you again for your review and I hope we will have opportunity to welcome you again and to talk to you personally.

Kind regards,
Edvinas Ritvas
Hotel director

We arrived at about 2220, after a long flight, and we were desperate for some coffee. But there's no coffee making facility in the rooms, the room-service finishes at 10pm and only offers "breakfast or in-room TV-Menu for hot and cold plate". Can we have a coffee in the bar then? No. No we can't. The staff are all busy catering a function, apparently. Instead we made use of the hotel's excellent location and found a coffee shop near the Town Hall (Salatino's, I think it was - *seriously* good coffee, which is rare in Vilnius).

Wandering back, I enquired after WiFi. It's 5 EUR for 24 hours, and only works on a single device, which is a) a bit tight, and b) a bit tight. Our room (210) did at least have a good signal though, unlike an earlier reviewer's! We also had a really nice view of their Winter Garden, which is a sort of terraced dining area enclosed by old 6 storey walls. It's pretty picturesque.

Room was quite pokey, with only 20cm or so between the bed and the wall on one side, but the bathroom is a decent size and the bath enormous, altho the shower-head is in about the worst possible location. Bed was firm and comfy and the environs are very quiet, I can safely say that this is probably the best I have ever slept in a hotel.

Breakfast is the usual selection of cereals, bready things, and Scandinavian fishy stuff, and I was pleased to see it came with coffee. Although if you want cappuccino or latte, that'll be extra. Also eggs / bacon/ sausages/ porridge are extra. For some reason, sausage and scrambled egg was free on our first morning, and boy, I didn't think scrambled egg that bad was even possible! The hotel has a restaurant and bar attached, but these seemed permanently closed when we were there.

All in all it's a very clean, very comfortable place, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not bad, beds are awesome, and the location is unbeatable.

Room Tip: 210 has a nice view and good wifi, but is small.
