“Good meals but a bit overpriced”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

It had nice local and Russian cuisine touch. Food was nice but a bit overpriced. Wine list was quite nice (overpriced as in Estonia usual and I had to send 2 bottles of wine back what they accepted as with older red wines it happens). For Estonia had several nice small innovations for surprise.

“Fantastic restaurant - but not cheap”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Russian cuisine at its best and brilliant service. One of the best presented meals I have ever eaten and a fantastic location for a special occasion.

“Good food in nice athmosphere”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Tchaikovsky is the restaurant of the Telegraaf, right in the old town of Tallinn. Note that the restaurant has two rooms -- the main dining room were most tables are and a smaller room on the side which seats something like 8-10 people. When we were there it was one table of 4 and two tables of 2. If you can, try to avoid being seated in the smaller room since you are very cut-off from the restaurant overall. Also the room can be very noisy since it's very small.

We were initially seated in the smaller room but then asked to change to the main dining room. That was possible without problem although the main room fills up quickly so it might be safer to specify where you would like to seat during the reservation. The interesting thing was that this change in table changed the dining experience completely. I probably would have given 2-3 stars for the experience in the smaller room.

Food is classical Russian -- apparently since I have never been in Russia before. The dishes are presented very nicely although they could be hotter in terms of temperature (some parts were lukewarm). We had the tasting menu which consists of 3 starters, 2 mains and one desert. But since the portions are very well sized, this was not a problem. The waitstaff in the main room was very nice, friendly without being too much in your face. The waiter in the smaller room seemed less pleasant and a bit over the top.

Overall a place to recommend when you are in Tallinn for a limited duration. I personally preferred Tchaikovsky over Neh where I had been earlier the week. The food is equally good in both places but the location in Tchaikovsky far better.

“MUST have expirience”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

I've visited it lately while being on long weekend in Tallinn. If you've heard that it's an incredible restaurant - now this is true! Food was perfect, new tastes and combinations as I expected, multilingual skillfull staff, but what made it from perfect to unbelievable was atmosphere: live chello - violin Tchaikovsky music, beautiful but not overwhelming, high glass ceiling and very I'd say british style interior, champagne Veuve Clicquot which was offered in the begining made it feel like celebration. The place to put you best dress on with pearls or dimonds. Expirience you won't forget.
