“Excellent Atmosphere and Food”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

This place was truly extraordinary and quite a hidden gem in Old Town. The atmosphere was classy and relaxing. The service was absolutely impeccable. I had the quail, which I must admit was a bit disappointing, but the bread and dessert made up for the main course. Overall, definitely a restaurant we would visit immediately if ever in Old Town Tallinn again.

“Food art in Tallinn!”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 via mobile

I must say, eating in this restaurant is one of the things I am sure to remember from my recent trip to Tallinn. Me and my mother dined here and both agreed that this was true food art. Talking about the food, enjoying the wonderful atmosphere and of course the excellent service made this into a really memorable experience!

I had the asparagus and lobster as a starter, and the duck as a main, both dishes wonderfully cooked and presented. My mother's choice of kamchakta crab and avocado salad, and the pigeon main course was equally beautiful. The showstopper for us was the pavlova dessert. The use of liquid nitrogen, had a great and dramatic effect, and really crowned the meal, leaving us speechless for a minute. Although a super sweet dessert it was somehow balanced out with a sorbet and fresh and exotic fruits. I absolutely loved it.

I agree with reviewers that the restaurant is pricy, but hey, in this case it is SO worth it. In my opinion you get great value as this is not only a meal, but an experience. If ever in Tallinn you should go to this restaurant.

“A dinner experience”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

This was the top of the service you can get in Tallinn. A long dinner in the inner yard, outside with romantic lights and with heaters if needed- with good friends - the recepy for an enjoyable dinner evening in The Capital of Estonia. My recommendations are: skip the menu, talk with the waiter/ waitress and ask for negotiation with the sommelier and listen to them and their suggestions.
If you have time, expectations, company and money - please choose a long evening here.
Small portitions of special exotic local food will be served and in companion with the right wines at the right timing. Possible to spend 600 eur for 4 persons, spending 3-4 hours but if you show that you respect the employees - you will certainly remember this experience. Thanks to the specialist working in this restaurant!

“Probably the best in the Baltic States”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

The single best restaurant in the Baltic states if not in the entire Eastern Europe.

Awesome atmosphere with fantastic service. The food is a bit on the pricey side, but the choice of the menu, taste, the style more than make up for it. The interior design compliments the plating of the food wonderfully - making the conversation easy to start and to keep going.

The wine selection is great but stick to the house selection to save money. The sommelier there is a real pro so you will not be disappointed. The waiter has charm and a high degree of knowledge about the food so make sure to ask for his opinion - go ahead, you go to these types of restaurants to make memories so they and you should take the time make it worth your while.

If you want to make an impression for whatever occasion, this is the place.

“Stunning Restaurant”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

We stayed at the Hotel Telegraaf for 3 nights in July and ate at the Tchalkovsky on our first evening. As it was a lovely warm evening we booked a table outside on the Terrace which was lovely but if you are just visiting to dine rather than staying you may want to eat in the restaurant as the room is just stunning…..look out for the single black swan napkin !!

We were travelling with friends and the four of us all tried different items from across the menu and none of us were disappointed - I particularly enjoyed my tune main course and there were several amuse bouche between courses. As you would expect, the service was excellent, attentive but friendly. I thought that cost of the food was reasonable (c42Euros per person for three courses) but the drinks (again as I would expect in a hotel of this standing) were expensive (c100euros for a couple of decent bottles).

Overall, a lovely evening of great food on a lovely terrace with fabulous company - I would eat here again but there are also equally good restaurants within the town and we thought Bocca was fantastic.
