Clean and comfortable hotel, well situated at walking distance of the government buildings and the historical centre.
Nice but rather uninspired rooms with free WiFi (of course, it's Estonia)...
Breakfast buffet and atmosphere in the breakfast room could be better...

Room was very spacious. Excellent free in-room Wi-Fi. Restaurant selection not too good, best was Cuban Bar. No nearby restaurants or convenience stores so you are beholden to hotel amenities. Very close to Upper Old Town (2 long blocks up the hill to the east) but no restaurants there, only in Lower Old Town.

My group and myself had been at a similar hotel the day before but had to move because no rooms available for the next day. The Meriton is 4 times the price of the other spa hotel and of no better quality.

Breakfast was a stressful nightmare with swarms of ppeople falling on the few seats available, no staff direction, no cutlery or crockery, just help yourself and fend for yourself. Went back to my room to get a cup of tea. No sweeteners or milk / creamer. Button fell off my shirt - no sewing kit (keep in mind this is a five star at nearly E300 per night).

Told on check in that we had been upgraded to suites - errr NO. Normal room like any other Hilton etc. Sure we didn't pay for extra and we sure didn't get it.

Nice deli. Cant comment on the spa services - never used them. Maybe great.

Wouldn't come again on business. May sound like pettiness but I cannot get over how expensive it is compared to the other spa hotel and how poor it was in comparison.

Room Tip: If you go on holiday be prepared to join in with the crowding masses, no discrete little love nest t...

All the staff we met was very friendly and kind and helpful. The room, 7th floor, was perfect and stylish with an exellent view. It is so admirable that they use traditional Estonian style of carpets in the corridors! The spa has many kinds of relaxing abilities. I had my hair cut in an extraordinary way although they had a stiff timetable. The breakfast is ok and the lovely white cafe "Mademoiselle" offers so many delicious products both for lunch and coffee break. The tiny souvenier shop offers beautiful modern estonian design. It seems they have an old part and a new part in this huge hotel. My story is about the new one.

Having travelled all around the world, this is one of the worst hotels in which we have stayed in. It is a very disappointing end to our Baltic holiday having stayed in good hotels in Vilnius & Riga. Other than the young man who spent 3 years in new york, the staff were all surly and unhelpful, not a good recommendation for Estonia. Management need to realise that tourists often gauge a city on staff at the hotel in which they stay. Thank goodness that the staff in the restaurants in the old town were pleasant, smiling & gave great service(thank you trip advisor). The room was small, a bathroom you couldn't swing a cat in), the lid of the toilet seat was dirty when we checked in, no shampoo conditioner or soap (only the soap dispenser on the wall which I loathe) and the tea cups werent washed. Breakfast was very ordinary. The location is ok, just outside the old town. And I have never stayed in a hotel where you have to pay to use the pool (10 euros!!)

I spent two nights in this hotel. My room was at the far end, which meant you had to pass: a Spa, a coffeehouse, a souvernirshop, a Russian restaurant and a Cuban(???) restaurant, and a bar which closed at around 23.30. The room was spacious, but smelled a bit outdated. Cleaning had been done superficially: there were hairs in my bed, and behind the screws of the roster in the bathroom door were a lot of hairs. Strangely enough my bathroom had no curtain and a very big window. Allthough partly blocked by shaded glass, it was still a remarkable lack of privacy! I told the (friendly) lady at the reception about this, but during my stay nothing was done about it. Apparently I was staying in the old part of the hotel. A part which, to my opinion, isn't worth the price you pay.
Breakfast was nothing special but good enough. No complaints there.
The restaurant had a strange problem with curtains, which were too small. This meant that when the restaurant was full quite a lot of people had to eat with the full sun in their faces. Food was good though.
Staff was friendly and fluent in English. Since this hotel is serving many tourist groups, they seemed a bit overwhelmed every now and then.
Location is good. The hotel is at the 'other' side of Toompea. Just a short walk (a bit uphill but no problem at all) and you're in Toompea, or at the Vabaduse square.

The hotel needs to refurbish it's old rooms quickly: now the old part is just not worth the price. Location is fine, as is the staff working in the hotel. It's doable, nothing less and nothing more.
