“Good prices but very busy peak season”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

Does what it says it does...rents bikes! We went here twice during our stay and managed to get bikes both times but be warned they service a number of tours and so availability isn't always guaranteed. You should be ok after 1pm when their big tours are done. Rates very reasonable and the staff lovely although stressed!

Hiring a bike is a great way to see more than just the old city and a must if you're wanting to venture further afield to some of the more interesting sites that this town has to offer.

“Fun way to see Tallinn”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

Booked this bike tour through ShoreExcursionsGroup.com who used City Bike for their tour. Our guide, Age, gave us a interesting tour of the city, ending in Old Town. She did a great job giving us insight into their culture. Highly recommend this tour!

“Old and damaged bikes. The worst service in Tallinn!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014

When you are traveling you just want peace and you expect the best, specially from the services that need tourists to survive! It didn't happen with City Bike.. I was with 3 more people and we just wanted 4 bikes for a day.. The guy who (didn't) help us was there just to say "Pick whatever you want, they're all outside!". They were very damaged and old so we just asked for some small adjustments on the bikes to fit our needs.. The guy was very rude and told us "Don't be picky. If you want the bikes, take them. If you don't, just go away because I have more people interested in renting the bikes!!" They just want to make money and don't care if the bikes need maintenance. Although the bikes were bad, we could take them anyway, but bad products with even worse service is a really bad combination and we gave up.

Maybe you can try "Hostel 16eur". They have less bikes but they're almost new and the service is much, much better!! We tried it and everything went very well!

On management side I'm glad to answer to those three reviews at the same time (Renato F, IsabelFerrao and Pedro P). Here is service provider point of view and remarks to things stressed out by 4 people, standing 10 minutes next to our rental bicycles and refusing to rent them and also refusing to leave.
On busy summer days we have around 50-60 bicycles in the morning to rent and 2-3 people give them out (in total we have around 180 bicycles but the rest are rented out for long rentals and pre-booked tours).
By noon there will be around 10-15 left and then we change our tactics. First tell people to choose the bicycles, they are all outside and people can choose them. Yes the choice is not very big and different frame sizes and we can't change the situation. It is either take it or don't.
On this very day we had a queue of 10 people. We told to everybody, please choose first bicycle, if you can find suitable bicycles for you we will make papers and you can start riding.
If there are 10 people waiting and 4 people choosing or correct to say standing next to 4 bicycles for 10 minutes it will be a bit strange. I asked them 3 times are you happy with the bicycles because they are the only ones we have but every time I got answer NO.
Finally I asked do they want to rent the bicycles or just standing next to them. Yes it was perhaps a bit too straight forward question but I felt this is not fair to other people waiting inside if somebody standing next to bike and have not much intention to rent it.
We have other people waiting and really would like to give them bicycles.
They were not happy with bicycles, just told one is too big and can I change the handlebar height. This was mountain bicycle and there are normally rigid stems, so the position is fixed. This was not good enough answer and customers started to say we have not good service, we need book of complaint and they will call the police.
We asked them to leave and all the rest of the clients looked happy, they could get the bikes.
Day continued as usual. And know we have got already 3 those "great" reviews from them, all stressing out how rude we were asking them to leave.

“Wonderful option”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

My husband and I were in Tallinn as a stop on our Baltic cruise. We signed up for the city tour with City Bike as it was a lower cost option then the cruise line offered and also was a much smaller group size (max of 8). We found the tent at the terminal very easily and our guide arrived shortly after. As it turned out we were the only ones who had reserved it so we ended up having a private tour. Our guide, Andrey (I think that's how you would spell it) was young and it was his 1st summer conducting tours but you would never know. We started out seeing the countryside outside the main part of the city and ended up with a walking tour of the old city, both upper and lower town. The little part of the countryside we saw was beautiful and, of course, the old town extremely interesting. We could have gone into town and walked around on our own but I enjoy getting the background information on what we are seeing without having to find it in a guidebook. And we would not have gotten out of the old town itself without the tour. Without arranging it ahead of time with the info we had from our travel agency, we also would have not known about the city tours and assumed they only did bike tours. A great find!

“Worth a trip to Tallinn just for a tour with Kristiina!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

We took the ferry in from Helsinki and had only a few hours in Tallinn. Booked a "funky bike tour" and we're lucky enough to get Kristiina as our guide. She was so engaging, knowledgeable and let the group choose our adventures along the way. We went out of Old Town and saw places we otherwise would have missed and learned history as told by a local. Did you know the Moscow Olympics were partially played in Tallinn? Did you plan to see the wooden submarine when in town? No?! Then just two of the many to book a spin with Kristiina!! We can not thank her enough for all the places, history and laughs - the perfect way to cap off our trip!
