“Super hip, super chill; good food too”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014 via mobile

Super hip. Super chill. Not only is the vibe great here, the food is quite good as well. We were here on a warm, summer night in July. The joint was jumping. A DJ was setting up to start spinning. (real vinyl, even!) Dudes were cruising around on these 1-wheeled Segway type things. I forgot the official name of these contraptions, but I was impressed how these guys always seemed to be on the edge of control, yet always avoided spectacular crashes.

All the outside tables were full, so we started the evening inside. The waitress was upfront and honest about their situation. She explained that they were swamped and that it could take 20 to 30 minutes to get food. We did not mind and decided to stay. We were glad we did. It was a fun evening.

It was a bit too hot and stuffy inside, so we kept an eye out for a table outside and eventually found one. Given the hipster vibe here, we expected to get some attitude from the wait staff, but were pleasantly surprised. They were always helpful and friendly.

My son had a great time running around the grounds and swinging on the swing rigged up on a branch of one of the pines. The food arrived earlier than expected and it was delicious. The highlight was dessert. These were over the top.

By the time we left, the DJ had a great groove going. We were sad to leave.

I'll be back every time I am in Tallinn.

“Nice with a bit of disappointment”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014

Nice place for a bite to eat or a drink with friends. It is also a good party venue. But what upsets me is the molded free bread when I was waiting for my order. I hope the manager could pay some attention now that the overall temperature in Tallinn is rather high and food needs to be handled with particular care. But will go there again but probably won't touch free bread again.

“Nice relaxing atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

Popular low key dining. Nice place for couples or large group.

Appetizer was good, burger a bit of a let down but overall a good experience.

Would go back.

“Nice food in a charming restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

This restaurant is in the trendy Kalamaja area a bit further away from the old town. We walked there from the old town in less than 15 minutes but you can also take tram number 1 from the city centre. The restaurant has been decorated in a charmingly rugged sort of way, the chairs look like they had been salvaged from an old school and nothing is too polished. They have several tables outdoors but we chose a table inside as it was a very hot day. The menu has nice options for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. We had bruschetta for starters, I had the vegetarian version and my companion the standard version with parma ham, salmon and shrimps. Both were very nice, 4 slices of bread each. For main course I had spicy coconut soup from the vegetarian menu, it was nice but not very special. My companion on the other hand was very pleased with his pork shashlik. The drinks list is extensive and they have nice wines. The service was not overtly friendly but OK in a typical Estonian way; the restaurant was quite crowded with customers at lunch time and the waiters seemed quite busy, so we had to wait for our dishes for some time. It is probably a good idea to make a reservation if you plan to come for dinner. The prices are very good so you do get excellent value for your money.

“Nice restaurant away from the old-town crowds”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

A very nice place to eat on the side of town that is not crowded with tourists. Good food and friendly service. A no-nonsense place build in an old factory hall. Large terrace and a large place inside, but still a reservation is needed for dinner as the place has become very popular.
