Owner description: This jumble of 14th- and 15th-century architecture with its medieval walls, needling spires and twisting, cobblestone streets is also the site of many of the city's important historic attractions and museums including the House of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads, St. Catherine's Guild and the 15th-century Guildhall that now houses the History Museum.

“Cute little town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

Well preserved, similar to prague, but less crowded. Easily walk across the old town in 5 minutes. Found good variety of places to eat beyond the town square (which is overpriced). Recommend a walk around the walls and check out the towers.

“Absolutely Medieval”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

They say that Tallin is the only medieval site today and it sounds true. The Old Town is really great, sometimes gloomy, but great. You see towers, stone walls, stone houses and churches. Really exciting and you should see the Catherine street. It is very small, but the oldest.

“Fantastic medieval-type city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014

A beautiful area to visit. The cobblestone streets curve throughout the city with houses shoulder to shoulder along them. As you walk along the streets, many of them suddenly open into squares with cafes with the typical European look and feel. Many people were enjoying the beautiful weather in these open-air locations. We started in the lower portion of the city and took a pretty easy walk to the upper section so we could see it all. There's a wall surrounding the city, and while we didn't do it, you're supposed to be able to walk around that for fantastic views. Lots of churches and older buildings to admire. Pay particular attention to the doors on the buildings for the detailing on them.

“Not to be missed.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014

If you like historic old towns then Tallinn should be on your list of go to places. The cobbled streets, a number of old churches and the old city walls of a well preserved Hanseatic Port are well worth the visit. Plus Estonia is reasonably priced and the people are welcoming and friendly.

“Beautiful Medieval town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014

What a charming beautiful old town. Definitely a must when in Talinn , take a few hours and walk around the old paved streets that remind of old medieval times. There are people in costumes at the town square where it is very crowded but you can walk down the narrow side streets and get the feel of it better. Also there are lots of restauranrs and souvenir shops.
