We reserved a deluxe room for one night and vere upgaded to a junior suite - a very nice, quiet and spacious room. The staff was very efficient and friendly and breakfast delicious. We vere offered the possibility to reserve a sauna for the morning, it was a nice plus for the stay. As we came to our room in the evening, the table lamps vere lit, the bed was prepared for the night and there was water brought next to the bed... We are very satisfied that we picked this hotel and will definitely recommend it to everybody.

This hotel was just wonderful. Perfect location beautiful building. Wonderful staff and great breakfast, even freshly cooked eggs and porridge!
The Dining Room was wonderful, it was like going into a victorian sitting room and the restaurant attached to the hotel served amazing food as well.
Staff couldn't have been nicer. A really great experience can't wait to go back!

Have used this hotel regularly until Swissotel opened in Tallinn. After another disappointment at Swissotel I decided to return to St Petersbourg. Definately the right move. This hotel boost a special ambience, service is top level and rooms are the best around, impeccable, crisp and delicate. Welcomed by personal letter from management (welcome back Mr Walle!) and a selection of fresh fruits.
Turn down service provided without asking.
I just love it! Leaving with the early morning flight in the morning they had prepared a lovely take away breakfast package.
St Petersbourg I´m back for good!
The only thing I missed was the bar and russian restaurant which are closed in the winter (low season).

Room Tip: All rooms I´ve had are exellent in all respects.

We liked there very much!!!! Nice place, restful atmosphere, excellent attitude. It was cold outside and we were nicely surprised that we don't have to park our car and whenever we needed it, we just asked and after a moment it was in front of hotel :) In the morning we got up quite late but didn't miss anything from breakfast, if something was already eaten by others, girls quickly brought everything that missed. Would be glad to return some day. :)

Room Tip: we wanted quiet room and asked for it and got it :)

My wife and I booked the Hotel St. Petersbourg for 4 nights in February and I doubt whether we could have chosen a better hotel in Tallinn.

We booked a deluxe room, one notch up from the superior. On arrival the reception staff ran through the booking and checked us in efficiently. The porter took our cases through to our room and explained how everything worked. We were very pleased with the room. Well appointed, good size, clean, nice furnishings, large Queen size bed and 3-seater sofa. The bathroom was immaculate. Room faced onto street leading to Town Hall square.

However, after a quick explore of the town, we returned to be told that due to a plumbing problem in the basement restaurant the water needed to be switched off and that we had to be moved to another room. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was every bit as good as the deluxe but larger and with more seating.

Beds were turned down in the evening with a complimentary bottle of water and chocolate.

Breakfast was plentiful and served in the Russian restaurant. A choice of cold buffet and hot dishes prepared to order. Eggs cooked as you like them, with a choice of bacon, smoked salmon, etc. Porridge was also available, which my wife had several times and thought was very good. Waiting staff in Russian dress cleared tables promptly and were unobtrusive.

We never managed to eat in the Russian restaurant Nevskij in the evening but did give the Estonian restaurant Kuldse Notsu in the basement a try. We were pleased that we did. Food was good in a rustic setting and appeared very popular.

If I was to be picky, I would suggest that the background music at breakfast time was either turned down or switched off. Music is personal and whatever is being played will be enjoyed by some and not by others. Safer to switch it off.

It was difficult to control the room temperature and the room was quite hot. Good sized radiators threw out a lot of heat but even when switched off the room was still warm. Having said that, it appeared that every building in Tallinn had similar temperatures, far warmer than here in the UK, perhaps to compensate for the sub-zero weather outside.

The German style Beer House was across the street facing our room. Well worth a visit if you are a beer lover as I am. Although it never affected us, as the double glazing in the room completely shut out all noise, I can imagine in summer when the weather is warmer and the windows are open, that the oompah music playing from the loudspeaker by the entrance could get a little irksome.

Apart from these minor issues, this is an extremely good hotel, one if not the best I have stayed in. I cannot remember their names but all staff were excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.

Room Tip: Couldnt fault ground floor 107 (deluxe) or 110 (junior suite) although as I said in my review, summe...
