Perfectly located in the Old Town which was busy with tourists, yet we could hear a pin drop at night. Gorgeous room - thank-you-thank-you-thank-you for our free upgrade! Every member of staff was cheerful, helpful and spoke perfect English. Generous, interesting breakfast buffet, plus a menu for hot food cooked to order. Tallinn far exceeded our expectations and this is the best hotel we've ever stayed in.

Great location, well run, well maintained, very large and comfortable room with big windows and good views.

We particularly enjoyed the sauna area which was clean and private. It was free to use the sauna though we made a reservation to use it.

There are a few downsides to the hotel that I wanted people considering stayign here to be aware of:

1. The hotel has no elevator, so this is perhaps not the place for people with mobility problems. Honestly Talinn can be challening in that regard with its many hills and cobblestone streets and sidewalks. For me this was not an issue but it could be for some people.

2. The hotel has a slightly dated (though clean and well maintained) interior design. There are other hotels in Talinn with a more up to date interior design but I believe they are much more expensive.

For me the St. Petersbourg is the best choice. It is comfortable, well managed, and has a great location.

The breafast in the Estonian restaurant downstairs was great, dinner in the upstairs Nevsky restaurant was just ok nothing outstanding.

Dear Guest,

We highly appreciate you taking the time to leave your comment on tripadvisor.com. Considering the fact that Old Tallinn does have lots of beautiful and charming cobblestone streets, we do agree with you recommending our future guests to wear as much comfortable foot wear as possible. Going up the stairs at the hotel by the end of the day of sightseeing tour will seam just seldom effort that’s part of this beautiful city. Many of our guests enjoy it, however for travelers with walking difficulties we always assign rooms on first floor.
Thank you for pointing out how clean and well maintained the hotel is, although we do agree that interior design could use upgrade in some of its aspects, which we are currently working on.
Never the less we hope to see you soon and would like to thank you for staying at the beautiful St.Petersbourg hotel.

This is far and away the nicest boutique hotel in which I have EVER stayed. From the moment we walked in (underdressed in crumpled travel pants and T shirts after 6 weeks on-the-go in Scandinavia), we were treated like royalty. The staff were simply wonderful, the atmosphere charming, everything spotlessly clean and the breakfast in the restaurant was a myriad of choices with eggs etc cooked to order. Fabulous! (Yes, there are stairs but if you're doing the tourist thing in Tallin you'll be climbing them everywhere - and burning all those calories you consumed in your hearty hotel breakfast!). The location cannot be beaten - with the square virtually just around the corner, all that Tallinn's Old Town has to offer is on the doorstep. I LOVED everything about this hotel!!! (We booked well in advance to stay three nights and found ourselves upgraded to a Suite. But it was really only "icing on the cake" as I'm confident we'd be comfortable anywhere in this establishment.) Highly recommend this hotel.

Dear Guest,

What a lovely letter you have shared with us and many our future guests. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent stay at St.Petersbourg hotel. We are very proud of our employees treating every guest as royalties as you quoted. You truly are one and deserve the excellence in every step of the way.
Tallinn, indeed has many steps to take to reach the most beautiful sightseeing points. However they are well worth it as you mentioned above. We are very glad you enjoyed your breakfast and hotel itself and we are looking forward to serve you in very near future!

This is an excellent hotel set in the centre of the old town of Tallinn. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The only down side was the lack of the a lift and although the staff were more than willing to help with luggage etc, breakfast was served in the cellar restaurant and therefore some guests found they had 3 floors to climb back to their rooms. However, the breakfasts were plentiful with a good selection of hot and cold dishes. The hotel restaurant is excellent and well worth a visit. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your kind comment on tripadvisor.com. We highly appreciate your personal input letting our future guests know how much you enjoyed staying at the hotel. It is truly one of the best locations in town.
Considering the fact building of the hotel is one of the most historical buildings in town, yes, we don’t have the elevator; however our staff is very pleased to assist you with anything you mind need to carry up or down. We are very glad you truly enjoyed breakfast in our restaurant which is the most famous one in Estonia serving delicious authentic national cuisine also for lunch and dinner.
Thank you for staying at St. Petersbourg hotel. We are very much looking forward to your upcoming stay already!

This is a beautiful old hotel set right in the historic heart of Tallinn. The room was comfortable and spacious. The reception staff were fantastic and keen to help and advise on trips, transport and restaurants. We had a great meal in the Russian restaurant too. No lift so you need to able to cope with stairs.

The only problem with our stay at the Hotel St. Petersbourg in Tallin, Estonia was it was only one night. It is such a beautiful hotel in a beautiful interesting city!

We took the two hour ferry ride over from Helsinki, leaving our rental car parked at the port’s parking lot. It was nice arriving into Tallin, watching the sky line come into sharper focus as we approached. To the left we could see the newer section of the city and to the right the medieval section with all of its church towers announcing its presence.

The walk to Hotel St. Petersbourg was only about fifteen minutes, so if you luggage is minimal and you don’t mind about a one to two mile hike, you can skip the cab. The hotel is in the heart of the city’s old town. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful and the two people attending the reception area were very welcoming. Our room and its bath were both very pretty and spacious. It was also very comfortable and clean. The Wi-Fi signal was strong so we had no problems getting and staying connected.

The price of our room included a breakfast buffet and I must say this was in my favorite dining area ever. The breakfast it set-up in the hotel’s restaurant, it is so cute. I have included pictures of it. The variety and taste of the food was wonderful. I usually eat within reason, however the croissant and the berry jam that was available was tooo good. I asked for the name of the jam and the staff was very happy to find out for me and write it down, now if I can only find where to purchase it on-line.

We are planning a trip to Russia, perhaps next year and are definitely putting Tallin and this hotel on the list. As I said the only thing wrong with our stay here is, it was only one very short day and night!

Stylish and nicely renovated smallish hotel (3 floors - no elevator) in the very centre of Tallinn historical downtown. Few minutes away you'll find the town hall square and many good restaurants and bars, nevertheless, the rooms are quiet. Well-kept and clean rooms though they are not very large. Abundant and excellent breakfast. The staff is friendly but sometimes maybe a bit too informal and chatting with each other.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the feedback and comments you have found the time to leave for us. We are very glad to hear that the location of the hotel you have found very convenient while staying in Tallinn. It sure is one of the best spots if not the best to explore this beautiful city.
It comes as a surprise that our staff has left you impression of being too informal, as we only hear positive feedback of the guest experience provided overall. However, I am glad you have brought this to our attention and please rest assured that we will follow up with your comment in detail. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back to Hotel St. Petersboug in future. Have a wonderful Summer season!
