I have just returned from Tallinn after a Monday to Wednesday stay at the hotel and can heartily recommend it. The staff was excellent and unfailingly courteous and helpful throughout the stay. The inclusive breakfast, buffet supper and coffee and cake in the afternoon were very welcome and I found the selection and quality of the food to be above the average listed in some of the reviews below. I stayed in the Barons suite which was tastefully decorated in a style reminiscent of the 1930s, green acanthus leaf wallpaper, black and white tiled bathroom (with an adjoining sauna room) and brown leather seating, the view of medieval town hall tower from the windows of my room were, pardon the cliché, fairy tale. Personally I had no problem falling and remaining asleep, although my companion did complain of a disturbance outside the hotel on Tuesday night, unfortunately featuring some of our compatriots.

Seven of us came to Tallinn to celebrate an 80th birthday. Through a shipingline we tried to
chose a suitable hotel in the Old Town. We couldn't have chosen a better one to suite
our needs. Very friendly service and as an extra bonus the complementary dinner buffet and
afternoon caffee/tea. It contributed to make our celebration a success.

Barons Hotel Tallinn was a return to working in an historical building in Liverpool. Old bank full of atmosphere and HUGE original safe for security boxes. A return to the past.
Rooms can be noisy on the front due to the new Australian bar that has made the area a bit of a 'hang out' for students.
Great welcome and service. Free inclusive security box, afternoon tea, and basic evening meal. Breakfast buffet very inclusive. Could have done with the cheese available in the evening as well.
Room was on the inside, so no rooftop views of old town, but quiet and convenient. A little dull and noise from thundering rain on flat roof.....not the hotel's fault.
Thoughtfully left complimentary 'bubbly' for our Ruby wedding anniversary.
Lovely staff on reception and full of ideas on bars and local information....found some hidden historic gems. Got off at the right bus stops etc.
Shower instantly worked and everywhere clean. Plenty of towels and changed if required.
Get the table by the left window for breakfast and dinner view into the old streets with rooftops and towers...out of a picture book.
Commercial hotel and Finnish tourists on weekend.
We were there for a week and it added to our love of Tallinn. Thank you Barons Hotel.
Arrived by bus from airport. Get off by Viru centre and go straight through the shopping centre and out the far door. Head to the old gate towers, keep ahead and turn left at the top of the road...Barons ahead. You will find a shorter way on return. Very convenient for everything.
If you are 60+ then all city transport is free. Pick up info on the terminals of trams and trolly cars because routes not on bus stops just final destinations.
Go to the coast at Pirita, get off after bridge. Lovely walk along beach. Walk back into city visiting imposing German/Russian cemetary and the MASSIVE Song Bowl on the way back. Take tram to Open Air Museum, get off at Zoo and walk along coast. Stunning setting.
Opera and ballet so memorable and inexpensive.
Fantastic Anniversary trip. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet inside room or could get street noise.

The staff in this hotel were excellent! They couldn't do enough for us. We were there for 4 nights and went over to Helsinki for 4 nights. When we came back they upgraded us to a junior suite without even being asked.

The hotel includes dinner and afternoon tea/coffee in the price so this is excellent value. Dinner is good quality but limited in choice.

The location in the old town couldn't be better. Although there is noise from the bar opposite this only really effects one side of the hotel and we were lucky.

We would definitely stay here again.

The staff is amazingly helpful. I had made reservations directly with the hotel. I then found the same dates and rooms for alot less on otel.com. I emailed the hotel and they said no problem just book through otel.com and we'll still give you the same rooms. Great location in Old Town.

The transport from the airport provided by the hotel was reliable and very reasonably priced.

Because I liked the staff so much it is difficult to find fault with anything but to be honest the beds were old and soft, the breakfast was only ok, and due to the location it was very noisey at night..but they do provide earplugs in every room.
