We booked thru the uniquestay website; when we came to the hotel they could not find our booking even if we had received a confirmation mail. Luckily the hotel was not fully booked and we got a zen room towards the courtyard like we wanted.
The jacuzzi was like so many other wrote much smaller than in the pictures but as we had read about it, it was ok – specially as the room was not too expensive.
The bathroom was freezing cold as we visited Tallinn in December and the room was not exactly too hot either.
Also the website specifies the ZEN room comes with bath rows and slippers but actually one has to order them from the reception separately. I guess Estonia has been hit quite hard by the recession...

I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and stayed in a single room which was clean, with Wi-Fi and TV. It was comfy in general, but if you expect other service such as breakfast and dining in their restaurant - I'd recommend to go outside. During the 3 days, only the first day I went to the breakfast which was included in the room tariff. They served hot meal such as fried bacons, omlette, sausages and cold dish for slice ham, cheese, tomatos, and cucumbers. Some bread with butter/jam and coffee in thermal flask and variety of juice. However, the quality was not as good as it looked. Even worse, they did not replenish food when it's finished. So if you REALLY want to have breakfast, go as early as you can or you will have nothing left. I chose to go a cafe in old town. At least the food quality and ambience is better than the lousy hotel restaurant. In addition, I had a dinner in that Brazilian restaurant the night when arrived and it was too late to go out for meal. The food was greasy and awful, not mentioned to the UK highstreet price.... The hotel staff at the reception was friendly tho..
Another point to let me down is the location. It takes 15-20 mins walk to the old town and it is a bit far away from any busy area....
In general, it is ok if you are looking for a clean room to stay with a reasonable price. But apart from that, nothing else.

Thank you for your constructive review. I am sorry to here about the problems you had with breakfast. We rarely have complaints about the breakfast, in the 3 star hotel category we provide actually more than most 4 star hotels, so i am keen to find out how we can improve this. The point about the fact the breakfast ran out, please can you let me know what time you came for breakfast? We have breakfast until 10 am, at this point the breakfast is cleared away, if you came before , this is inexcusable and i will resolve this.
Regarding the Ipanema, the meats are grilled on a rodizio grill , so they should not be greasy as most of the fat drips away, again can you tell me what was greasy? as it is an all you can eat concept , did you get offered other meats? We have great reviews for this restaurant so we take this very seriously.
Regarding the point about the location, it takes ten minutes to walk to the old town, it is an easy walk past the national library, maybe you took a different route ? other feedbacks are very positive about the location.
Please let me know, i cannot post my email here due to tripadvisor regulations , but if you go through our website and address to Paul, I would appreciate more details so i can rectify these problems.

For starters, we have got the amazing deal from hrs.de so that we booked 2 nights in this hotel and got 1 night free.
The hotel is located in old Soviet building which however was modernized and renovated so that you cannot tell the difference. That being said the photos on most of the travel sites are better then the hotel itself appears to be.
By the way it is not that far from the city center just a pleasant five-minute walk away.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially people from reception desk (Robert and Irina Kiseljova).
We had some problems with our room but after we addressed to the staff we were transferred immediately to another room which suited us just fine.
The rooms are kept very clean.
Other perks: there is computer with free Internet access in every room and guests can use sauna 8 - 11 am free of charge.
However there are several downsides: the hotel offers great prices but tends to economize on small things like slippers and bathrobes in the rooms, no stationary and pens and no shampoo (but I guess it is still better to take your slippers and shampoo from home then to pay more for another hotel of the same range). Plus (or minus) my wife had a birthday during our stay in the hotel and nobody seemed to notice that.
Breakfast was ok but nothing more than that (they didn't change a single dish during our stay).
Overall the hotel was good, tidy and with very nice staff and was well worth the money paid. We'd definitely recommend it to everyone. Green thumb up!

Thanks for the positive review! I would like to clarify two points if i may, the bathrobe and slippers are standard features in our Zen rooms which feature upgraded amenities , are larger and have whirlpool baths, these are available for a small supplement and are very popular! in the standard rooms we have all over body and hair shampoo. I will look into how we can make this clearer for guests.
Re the photos , can you be more specific which photos are different from the product ? this is the first time i have had this comment and i am keen to learn, maybe you saw a picture of our Zen room and you stayed in a standard room? either way we always have pictures of all our room types.
Breakfast, currently we have cold and hot items, ie bacon sausage, omelettes, beans , potaotes, either croquette or hash browns, and a selection of cold items , breads etc. We have just upgraded our breads, could you let me know which other items would be welcome? many thanks

A quick taxi journey from the airport brought me to a non describe plain building which appeared to blend end with the majority of the other buildings in this area of town. Very close to the National Library, but quite a walk to town, better for a taxi ride or a bus.

A very modern and nicely decorated hotel, a warm welcome from reception in perfect English and a really nice ZEN bedroom. Free wireless, lots of extras, computer in the room and a huge bathroom.

Breakfast was a small, but good buffet style affair in the downstairs Brazilian restaurant. The hotel restaurant was not open, so I went to the Brazilian buffet adjoining, very well sized portions, nothing special, but good food.

A generally good hotel, housekeeping was a little late in the day and the minibar contents were not replaced each day.

It used to be a rather russian building, and somehow it still shows. Modern rooms, if rather bland : very clean, computer in the room, but nothing of a boutique hotel in the accommodation as both the website or the hall would suggest. You can indeed walk to the city center, or use the frequent buses just in front of the hotel. The breakfast room is supposed to be the brazilian spot of Tallinn, which may appear rather weird to most tourists. Why they don't use a rather decent restaurant upstairs is up to the management, but the quality of the breakfast food certainly could improve. All in all a rather pricey place for the overall quality.

We stayed for two nights in early July. Booked on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. Although it looks a bit drab outside, its a great hotel. We got an excellent deal on a Zen room with complimentary wine and fruit on arrival. The room itself was splendid with a great bathroom and free internet computer.

Breakfast was included and tasty and overall the place had a friendly feel. Tallinn is a great place for a short break - we are really glad we stayed at the Uniquestay.
