I was rather prejudiced about staying in a 3-star hotel, but the reviews were good and the private parking was a big plus, so we decided to try it and didn't regret the choice. The hotel is situated 5 minutes from the Old Town, the rooms are not really big, but very clean, the bathroom in ours was immaculate. Breakfast is nice, with cold and hot choices, even coffee was ok. I would like to thank the st.Barbara's team, you guys are doing a great job!

the breakfast was the the most memorable aspect of my stay in tallinn.
just outside the old town, a mere few mins walk via an underpass to reach the medieval and charming old tallinn. away from the old town can be a very good idea especially on the weekends where loads of drunk tourists fill the cobbled streets and get belligerent.

the rooms were non-descript and there's no air-conditioning, so it was already quite warm in late fall/early winter, can't imagine how it'd be like in summer. had to leave the windows open or it gets too warm.

it's about a 6-euro taxi ride from the silja port for ferries from helsinki.

there's an airport bus just on the main road, so it's extremely convenient. painful lack of eating options in the immediate vicinity, unless you walk to the supermarkets approx. 15 mins away. there's a hot dog-and-other-foods kiosk 2 streets away, but can't possibly have that for 3 dinners.

the breakfast was a generous spread, and ate very well. one of the more memorable breakfasts i've had, and in the evenings, converts to a german restaurant, which i've not had the chance to try, but menu sounds appealing and authentic enough.

corridors are vanilla-scented. pleasant and welcoming at first, but gets a little nauseating by the end of our stay.

Dear NikolosSG,

Thank You for Your review of our hotel!
Since our building is listed in the National Heritage Board of Estonia and therefore under protection, there is indeed no air conditioning in the rooms. But extra fans are available upon request from the reception!
We are very happy to hear Your compliments towards the breakfast and will be happy to welcome You to Hotel St.Barbara in the future and of course invite You to visit in our restaurant Baieri Kelder!

With kind regards,
Kristiina Verner

Stayed here for 4 nights. Hotel lovely and clean, staff pleasant and helpful. Room was plenty big enough with a large bathroom and good shower. Maid service every day. Good choice at breakfast and the food and drinks in the restaurant were very reasonably priced, being cheaper than most of the bars in the square. We dined there twice, food was very good, and had a last drink in there every evening. Very good location. The old town is about 5-10 minutes walk where you will find lots of bars and restaurants plus museums and shops etc. Would definitely recommend staying here.

On my scale what makes a hotel perfect:?
1.Value for money.Check
2.Comfortable room and bed.Check
3.Friendly staff.Check
4.Good breakfast.Check
5.Close to main attractions.Check
With that in mind..this hotel was perfect. Stayed there 3 excellent nights.
The hotel is located on a side street just across the Freedom Square at the edge of the old city. Perfect location.
Night ride with taxi from airport 7 minutes and 7 euros!
Breakfast fantastic full one..
The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from VIRU centre. Thats were the main tour buses go from, that's also where the big shopping center is located .
As for Tallinn, do not do the mistake I did.You should come for at least 3 full days. Buy the TALLINN card at the hotel for at least 48 hours and enjoy plenty of attraction saving valuable money. The card comes with a guide book to help you out. A must is the TV tower and the many attractions and museums i the old city . Walk Walk Walk. You will always find a new hidden place in the Old City.

Room Tip: Cant advise much as it looks all rooms the same.My was on 3rd floor street view. No problems.

Just finished a very pleasant stay here. The location adjacent to old town couldn't be beat, the staff were friendly, and the attached restaurant was fantastic. What more can be said about this charming boutique hotel.

Very clean, spacious room. Nice bathroom and great shower with glass sliding door. Room 410. Small desk handy. Great position. Close to Freedom Square and public transport. Walk 5-10 mins to shopping centre. Beds and pillows comfy. Staff at reception desk extremely helpful and speak perfect English. Breakfast fairly run of the mill. No lift for your suitcases, so you either bump them up the main staircase to reception, or put them on a metal ramp and drag up that. Good luck doing that, twisting your back at the same time! Would stay here again though.

Room Tip: Our room was overlooking roofs and part of a courtyard - nothing inspiring, but it was quiet.
