Friendly hotel very near old town but aside from the nightlife if you want to sleep at night. The rooms we had was on 3 floor. Evrything was working fine. Hot water, lift and and a breakfast with porridge cornflakes, sausage and normal bread, coffe etc.no noice in nighttime at least not in our room 3 floor.windows facing parkingspace. We did not try the hotel restaurant so cant say about it. Busses and trams are running very near also.

Clean, comfortable, functional, well-priced hotel in great location near Old Town. The family room was perfect for our family of four; the couch & trundle bed combo in the outer room worked well for our 7 & 3 year olds. Minor criticisms: for some reason they've put a small patio in the back courtyard, I'm assuming for smokers from the German pub in the basement of the hotel. It was just large enough to attract five or six loud, tipsy customers on one of the evenings we were there. To be fair, the noise ended around 11 or so, and it was only on one of the three nights we spent at the hotel so maybe it's not a common occurrence. But I'd recommend they get rid of this space -- I can't imagine it generates sufficient revenue to make up for the loss in good will they must suffer with hotel guests looking for quiet. Also, as is not infrequent in this part of the world, the main bedroom area in the family room had two twin beds rather than a queen. Not our ideal, but again not out of the norm here. Bottom line -- we had a good stay and would come back again without hesitation.

Great location, clean, tidy, comfy beds and good value for money. The European breakfast was average and for the room rate, no real complaints. Great atmospheric German pub below the hotel where breakfast is taken. There can be a little noise at the front of the hotel but nothing to prevent sleep!! We would use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Select a room at the back of the hotel. There can be a little noise at the front of the hotel but no...

Close to the center of Tallinn Old Town, with parking in the back yard. Spacious rooms (for European standard), clean and quiet. The breakfast was however better during our stay last summer. Can certainly recommend it.

The hotel is close to the Old Town (approximately 1 min walk by feet) and to several shopping centers. Good breakfast is offered, rooms are nice and new.
Look for "smart offer" when booking - some dates are offered with discount. We booked with 20% off.

The hotel is easy to find from the airport and is in a good location on the edge of the old town. A German Bierkeller is attached to the hotel which has good beer choices which are quite cheap and a small but good menu. A good breakfast is taken here. 5 minutes walk away is the Solaris shopping centre which has a large supermarket and a self service café (Lido) which has an excellent selection of meal options.

The rooms are quite small but have everything required for a short stay with a nice shower; adequate clothes storage; a small desk and a flat screen TV (with English programmes dubbed into Russian with Estonian subtitles!). The room we had was at the front of the hotel and was very noisy due to road traffic (street sweepers at 04.30), noise from a concert in the nearby square and pedestrians. There was also an element of noise from within the hotel. Because of this noise it was impossible to have the window open and therefore the room got very warm. I would expect this to be a big problem in the heat of summer as there is no air conditioning. The bed was somewhat uncomfortable due to the ill fitting bedding , the very soft mattress with a strange thin mattress top and the fact that it was very low. This meant that you rolled into the centre of the bad at every turn. As we were only staying a couple of nights we put up with these problems but any longer would have taken the shine off a pleasant visit to a nice city.

On the plus side the staff on Reception were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Room Tip: Do not stay at the front. Ask for a room at the rear.

Dear Holidaydad55,

Thank You for Your review!
Indeed we have had concerts nearby, due to our otherwise very good location at the Freedom Square, in the start of May. One was to celebrate the Day of Europe, anther dedicated to Veterans. I can understand Your discomfort to some extent, although we havent had any complaints regarding pedestrians.
Although the is no air conditioning (due to listing in National Heritage Board of Estonia) the hotel is equipped with fans and they are available upon request from reception.
Thank You for complimenting the reception staff, we are happy to hear that these minor lacks did not take the shine off a pleasant visit to Tallinn, as You so well put.

Hopefully You will give us a chance to out-do ourselves upon Your next visit in the future!

With kind regards,
Kristiina Verner

The St. Barbara is a great hotel right next to the Old Town, (just a few feet away). They have a friendly staff, (not including the restaurant people that need some work) that can speak flawless English. The rooms are large, even by American standards with all of the expected conveniences. There is a restaurant and pub in the basement.
